The Olympics is this summer around August-September.

My favourite Olympic boxer is either Roy Jones Jr or Pernell Whitaker.

My favourite for Athens is Mario Kindelan at 60Kgs. He's almost a dead cert to win gold.

Stevenson, 3 times gold medalist, has to be considered one of the best Olympic boxers of all times.

Good call on Stevenson. Savon's also won 3 golds so he has to be up there as well.

Both great boxers, but it's unfair to use the same measuring stick for the athletes from communist countries, who were basically seasoned pros fighting as amateurs. Athletes from non-communist countries who typically had just one olympic shot and won gold while they were still teenagers or 20ish youths (and often over these seasoned veterans from communist countries) are just as impressive as these repeat performances by Cuban or Russian (or whatever) veterans, IMO.

Fair comment.
