Its ran it's course now. It used to mean something when someone won. I think if they stopped running so many and maybe did 2 at max a year always at different weights then it would maybe be a bit less stale. An idea i would use is to have a similar concept but have unlicensed or amateur fighters competing in their very first pro fights and the winner gets a pro contract plus training costs under matchroom.
Damian has had a similar idea I believe.

That would be best thing to do. It's too insipid these days, It's more than ran it's course. It was a great format at first and it still provides a good payday for those involved but it's time to can it.

The last one was great, and the next one is shaping up to be really good too. The frequency is spot on IMO. I think the bar is just going to be raised constantly.

The fact that Sky are putting no small hall traditional shows on TV yet are still pushing this to the max annoys me.

I understand they're catering for the casual fan though.

It is a bit of a downer, I do miss Friday night fights. But the problem for me is that everyone I speak to about boxing, at work or in the pub, wrongly claims that there aren't any good boxers around anymore. All I hear is that the Klitschkos are boring, Mike Tyson would have beaten them, Eubank and Benn were the best ever, Naz was good but got what he deserved against the Mexican fella;- Proper uneducated, stuck in the past, less than casual fan opinions. Whether it's because boxing is not in the mainstream anymore, or it's Sky's fault, PPV to blame or just the way that not many of the best want to fight each other etc... Is to blame, I'm not sure. There aren't even many casual fans. A lot of people in Nottingham don't know who Carl Froch is.

I know more people who watch cycling. That says it all really!

Every time a Prizefighter comes round, or there's a discussion about it, people complain. Yet when was the last time there was a seat to be had at one of the events? Clearly they are still making money so they have far from "run their course", and speaking for myself I still thoroughly enjoy watching it.
