UPDATE ON SOME VIP FIGHTERS

CARL JOHANSSON – Boxes Martin Gethin on the 21st September for an IBF Intercontinental belt and for what is probably an unofficial eliminator to fight Gavin Rees for his British and European titles , Carl has been looking like his old self sparring various VIP boxers and is well up for this .

TERRY FLANNIGAN – Defends his English Super-Featherweight title against Troy James on the 22nd September at Bowlers in Manchester , this fight is a trade contest between two very evenly matched boxers.

TOMMY COYLE – VIP have secured a WBC Silver international belt at Light-weight to be on the line when he tops the bill in his home town of Hull on the 28th September , a few tickets are left for this show at the great Hull City Hall venue which will also see a great undercard

JOSH WARRINGTON – Supports Tommy Coyle in his first 10 round title contest which will be a stepping stone to bigger challenges for Leeds unbeaten prospect.

RICK GODDINS – Was originally due to box Glenn Foot on the Echo arena bill but has been released from contract by Frank Maloney ,he will now box on the VIP show in his home town of Bolton on the 7th October which has 2 titles fights and 7 other undercard contests on already . Rick is 17-0 now and ready for any sort of title shot , if it does not happen at home then we will be happy to take him abroad for an opportunity.

JAZZA DICKENS – Has gone under the radar to reach 11-0 but is another VIP fighter ready to mix at a higher level . Jazza will do a 8 rounder on the VIP Blackpool event on the 5th October and a big step up is planned for a Hatton promotion show late in November.

KEVIN SATCHELL – Fights Chris Edwards for the British Flyweight title on the Maloney Mega show at the Liverpool Echo arena on the 13th October which is topped by David Price , he will be supported by VIP Prospects JOHN QUIGLEY , RYAN FARRAG , WAYNE ADENYI , TOM CARRUS AND LOUIS CUDDY.

MIKE ROBINSON – Goes to Ireland on the 22nd September to box Jamie Conlan in a British Super-Flyweight eliminator.
PRIZEFIGHTER – 3 VIP Boys are in the 6th October lightweight contest in Liverpool , our best wishes go to GARY SYKES, STEVE JENNINGS AND TERRY NEEDHAM.

DEBUTANTS – Good amateurs Steven Lewis and Isaac Lowe have turned professional with VIP and will box on the FAMOUS FIVE event in Blackpool on the 5th October which has all the local favorites Brian Rose , Jack Arnfield , Scott Cardle , Matty Askins and Adam Little boxing together for probably the first and last time together , this may be why tickets are flying out !!!

The schedule says Coyle is contesting the vacant English Lightweight title. If he's moving upto 10st maybe he can fight a certain Mr Woodhouse. Some good looking fights lined up for VIP boxing.

What's the script with Gooding?? Not a lot of 17-0 guys get released from contract. Does he not sell a lot of tickets or what? Av only saw him 3 or 4 times but he looked very decent.

XRGCX ,

Just not enougth dates to keep him working , also if he got into a title position would struggle to get him on a show as Maloney only got 5 dates and everyone has to be David Price topping.

Best that he was released so we can get him work with other promoters and hopefully a new promotional deal when he becomes a champion.

PS - Sign of the times this mate , going to see a lot of decent boxers disapointed - at least with VIP we can keep him busy waiting for an opportunity

Good on you mate. Does he know what weight he's going to stay at? He showed a little bit more power at Light Middle so that maybe could be his weight. Get him in with Kris Carslaw for a celtic or masters title. Am sure both would fancy their chances. Maxwell and Matty Hall also good fights for him
