Hi All, I'm loathe to come on here to publicise Sky shows but just wanted to say that the Ringside Special on 'How To Box' is repeated tonight on SS2 at 10 p.m.

It went out in the middle of August but I'm not sure how many will have seen it during the closed season. It's a bit of fun, lots of big names explaining different boxing techniques, I'm obviosuly biased but think it's worth a watch!

Thanks Ed, didn't catch it first time but I'm going to watch it tonight so I can learn how to punch my boss properly! DD

Ahaa! (in a partridge voice), now that is good news I caught literally the last couple of mins on the weekend repeat pressed the I button thought it sounded ace, searched for it and it was already lost in the ether.

It's well worth a watch - they pack the fighters in. My fave is Ian Napa - he was quality.

I agree Napa was quality, he has some knowledge to pass on and he seemed like a natural, fluent communicator, hope he stays in the game in a coaching capacity.

Really enjoyed it. Will the Froch special be repeated? My Sky+ went tits so I missed it

I got to watch the first 19 minutes of the Froch special that I had Sky+'d and then it stopped playing. I would love it if they repeated that one, it looked like a great watch. Froch is bad man - guy is unfazed, you could really see Bute was nervous before the fight and Froch and McCraken knew they had his number.

Same here. I was expecting it to be a compilation of previous clips and didn't realise it was a behind the scenes look. Was really enjoying it and was very p1ssed off when Sky packed up

Matt, I'll ask about the Froch special in the office tomorrow and let you know. Froch was incredible that night but, personally, I wasn't convinced that he'd do it during the week. I thought that he struggled with the southpaw stance of Fred Evans in sparring and seemed more concerned with the state of his haircut than anything else. Bute just looked completely at ease. Then on the night Carl was a monster!

Gasman and Dan, Last time I saw Ian Napa I think he said that he was working with disadvantaged kids locally. He's often still to be found in James Cook's 'Pedro' boxing gym in Hackney, doing some weights. Teaching is different to doing but Ian seems to have the knack for both. If only he'd been a concussive puncher...

I really enjoyed it. I'm a big fan of boxing programming that provides fighters with a platform to get their natural character and persona across. If SKY keep on making this type of programming, I'll keep on watching it!

I thought the same about Bute. It seemed like we were watching a potential superstar in the build up, came across superbly, completely at ease and supremely confident.
Come fight night though, bang, Froch was all business. Brutal. Broke Butes heart.

Ed, while you’re posting how was Froch and Calzaghie in the studio, I think Carl looked a little star struck??

He can be very aloof, then ridiculously focused. There is zero in between.

Sorry, after all that it was bumped because of rain at the US Open. I think they'll re-schedule and I'll let you know.

The Froch show will also go out again - although maybe not until the week of the Mack fight.

Zero, I think Carl and Joe met up by chance at the WBC organised 'Champions' event in Cardiff a while ago and were surpisingly friendly towards each other. They met again at the launch for Adam Smith's book and had a bit of banter. I wasn't on set when they were on Ringside but by all accounts they were very civil. I don't think Froch is in awe of anyone but he was certainly respectful.

very fecking annoying they cancelled it. I actually moved my bulky old tv vcr unit downstairs just so i could record it on a video and play it in my garage to show my boy. Than its cancelled so bad back and all i had to lug it up the stairs. Hope they do show it again or someone who has it on dvd can pm me to discuss!

Only watched it last night, been on holiday, was pretty good, liked it when pricey clumpted bellew around the back of the head at the end of there one !

I'm told that the How To Box show is definitely on again - SS2 midday this Monday....

Jessi, you don't realise just how big Pricey is until you see him next to a tall light-heavy like Bellew.

I know what you mean ! Bellew looked like a welter weight next to pricey, infact when bellew was demonstrating the right hook he could hardly reach him !
Noticed price and Harrison came head to head recently and he towered him too !
Hope price continues his improvement and faces wladimir next year or early 2014
