Bollox, not sure why Miranda didn't take his walking stick in with him.

They were correct in their assessment, it was a fairly boring main event .Bellew was playing it safe and Miranda was cruising to a pay cheque as soon as he shipped a few he bailed out.

whats with all the comparisons with whatever Cleverly does , i wouldnt have been particular confident of the result if Cleverly had been in the ring instead of Bellew , in fact the way Cleverly tries to get a bit macho at times he could well of seen himself sparked out .

As far as form lines go though, Bute sparked Miranda in 3, Bute sparked by Froch. Where does it leave Bellew?

We dont all feel the need to hang off Cleverlys cock , easier to make comments having saw how that fight turned out but i state again , if it had been Cleverly i wouldnt have been too confident , Miranda can BANG , and is a dangerous opponent , we just didnt know which Miranda was going to turn up .

Put it this way , the only only person as good as Miranda that Cleverly has beaten is Bellew , but before tonight we didnt even know if it was as good as that .

Murat is better than the current version of Miranda.

It's also arguable that the current version of Miranda is better than Mohammedi and Uzelkov.

Surely you can hold a cock whilst blowing smoke up Bellew's Arse, the fight was a shite borefest. Like i said step away from the beer old bean you have had enough, your big hitting Bellew didn't dent Nathan never mind an ancient middleweight.

Pretty poor fight, Bellew seemed to back off more than once when he had Miranda hurt...very strange

Taffy you emerge and announce as yourself a bigger helmet every time a Bomber/Clev fight happens.

I thought the commentators were off, not in their assessment that the first 6 rounds was slow, but with not getting on to Tony's tactics earlier.

It was his gameplan, he stuck to it. I was onto it before the first bell - you'd think the commentators would have grasped it too.

What gameplan was that? Let Miranda chase him around the ring for six rounds until the old geezer was out of puff?
I don't know whether his team were scared of the power of Miranda or what but Miranda couldn't get out of first gear from the first round onwards and couldn't put together more than a couple of punches together at a time without taking a breather.
In this instance I think his teams gameplan to be overly cautious and they should trust Tony's natural instinct to know when he can go for the kill.
I'm fairly sure he could have wiped Miranda out in a few rounds if he'd shown confidence.
Although it was a decent name on the record it wasn't the statement he could have made.
Far too much respect rewarded to Miranda, where was the spiteful disdain he showed Cleverley and Mckintosh.

i think bellew beat cleverley even tho before the fight i thought cleverley would of k.oed bellew, bellew is a lot more talented than your giving him credit for,if he would of went out there and tried to fight fire with fire it could of blew up in his face but he stayed patient boxed well and stayed away till miranda had run out of gas,the object of the game is to hit and not get hit, its not hit and be hit to please the fans but end up punchy. well done tony you fought the right fight :TU:

Was a better fight than the boxing dummies that Clev fights from those stupid adverts that used to be on allegedly.

I thought it would have had a few more fireworks than it did to be honest. Still, he got the job done in the late rounds as most forecast and moves onwards.

at least with bellew you know your gonna get knock downs and the majority of the time a k.o, with cleverley you think your gonna get excitment and fireworks and end up falling asleep or pressing fast forward if its recorded, the best cleverley fight i seen was at the echo arena against murat other than that can someone tell me a fight that he has been exciting cause im struggling to find a fight to warrant all the cleverley cock sucking? its all the fw boys and welsh fans that get excited at the mention of cleverley.

I don't think it was an especially bad performance but it certainly wasn't anything special. Mirnada is way, way past it and in reality is a Middleweight. Yes he gave it all the big chat, as he always does, but bar an ageing Howard Eastman he hasn't had a proper world class win, and that was over 5 years ago at 160. He's got an attractive record and has mixed with some good names so he appeals to promoters, look at the good crowd and atosphere last night, but he is cannon fodder at 175 - his power doesn't shift good class 168/175 guys.

Bellew also is a bit miss-cast in my opinion. He's a good technical boxer, rangey and with decent (nothing more) power. However a few stunning KO's in the amatuers and his self-publicity and quotes seem to convince some he is a wild out and out banger. Against Ajisaf, MacKenzie II and last night he boxed from range and wore his man down (to an extent). I thought he won every round bar the 2nd last night but if Miranda hadn't been looking for a way out last night I thought it would go 12. Solid performance but I didn't learn anything I didn't know about Bellew last night. The fanfare isn't justified yet for me

I think Cleverly is more entertaining than Bellew.

bit unfair that everyone is calling miranda a middleweight since he hasnt actually made the middleweight limit since 2007, in the pavlik fight. not defending the choice of opponent but stopping miranda holds a bit more ground than getting a decision over tommy karpency IMO. big fan off bellew and cleverly, not a fan of the matchmaking!

the difference is that bellew isnt a defending 'world champion', and at this stage fights like this are good for experience with that little bit of risk there aswell. his boxing skills have shone through where people were just expecting him to try and bomb everybody out all the time, and he's still improving! he's got the sense to be entertaining when he can, and fight smart when he has to.

the problem i feel with cleverly is that he has a title way too soon, and it wont be long until he's forced into a position where he has to fight somebody who is levels above the likes of who he's facing right now, and i dont think he is gonna be ready for it at all. he was literally given that belt, such a shame for him that the braehmer fight never happened
