I personally hope he doesnt come back but if he can get to Welterweight a stadium fight with Khan would make a lot of sense in a year or so.

Ricky shouldnt come back but the man always held himself against the very very best in tyzu, pac and mayweather and he lost 2 and won 1. Khan has to still show he is that kind of kid despite the fact it was bradley who backed out.

Khan -Hatton is a incredible big money fight here and so lets give ricky a chance the man is a legend and deserves it

He should fight Witter.

If Hatton is anywhere near his best then it should be an easy win.

Think it was a 60/40 fight in hattons favor 6 to 7 years ago, but now it's 50/50 !

If Hatton can't beat Witter then he has no chance against a world level opponent.

If Hatton thinks he still has what it takes, then why not take on the only fighter at this sort of level that could be hyped up as a big opponent?

Hatton won the war with Witter - no chance he will give Jnr the chance to face him in battle.
Ricky is a gazillionaire who has made enough to look after two or 3 generations down his bloodline whilst Witter Is a 40 year old washed up pug fighting for scraps- I'm not saying its right or wrong but Ricky always said he wouldnt give him a pay day.

Hatton IS fighting on November 24th at the MEN.

Although not sure they will unveil the opponent Friday, as a loose end.

Looking at him on Sky tv just now and he looks about about 15 stone.

I'd go with Witter if I was Hatton.

he should go for witter and shut him up once and for all.

Hatton would be able to say something like "I came back after 3.5 years of inactivity and was still able to batter Witter, so what would I have done to him in my prime?".

Would a fight against Witter not generate more money than a fight against most other opponents that he could choose? Who would make Hatton more money that he has a good chance of beating?

In reality a Witter fight wouldn't generate any more money then a Hatton comeback against Igor xhgyvickgfdd the Latvian welterweight Champ...apart from the hardcore like us who ate the minority nobody gives a monkeys about Witter or their beef.

What I'm getting at is whether your in favour or not a Hatton return fight is dinamite business.
This will be the return of Sky PPV IMO and the marketing men must be in full overdrive at sky HQ right now- this will get the full 'Rocky' treatment.

More chance of Matthew Hatton fighting Witter than Ricky.

I think they missed a trick there, training in Italy at first etc - they could have documented his road to fitness in the weeks leading up to the fight.

Haven't seen the Sky footage but I saw Ricky in his gym two weeks ago and he looked lean and mean.
Could it have been archived footage you saw ?

Yeah, he’s been training for months looking likely IMO going back to 140 going by his twitter pictures.

The biggest problem is his opponent… does he go straight to world level or European??

He fought the best and lost. Personally he was never in that elite league but he has had a great time at the top where arguably he wasn't even as good as some of the other well known fighters. I think Khan would beat him easily.

Often when boxers then become trainers quickly they see boxing through a different light and think to themselves that they are just as good or even better in their heads than before (schumacher is a classic example of this in f1). He has only just started losing the wieght and lets be honest unless he picks a very middle of the road fighter then this could be a very bad decision.

He will want a big name to fight against just to massage his ego and look after his pride. If I was Hitman's manager and had to make a fight made then he needs to pull someone like Moseley out of retirement as well. Big name, not that fast anymore but will give him a decent fight and one if Hatton is perfomeing well could win on points......other than that who of the top names would Hatton really beat?

If it's on November 24th, I'm kind of screwed. I wanted to watch the Premier League Snooker finals on that day in the local sports bar. If Ricky Hatton is making a comeback, it's likely to be full of boxing fans watching that.. I guess I can book a telly up for the snooker, then keep my eye on Ricky Hatton.
