Billi Joe Saunders vs Fletcher

The favourite is Billi Joe Saunders. He won more confortable his last fight than Fletcher. But Fletcher has more experience in amateurs winning James Degale.

Does Fletcher any chance to win?

Do you think Fletcher had more experience in the ams. - maybe against aussies, islanders and kiwi's. Saunders won a commonwealth gold aswell and went to an olympics. (He also won his first 49 am fights as a snr.) But of coarse Fletcher has a chance, a very good one but for me it's Saunders on points.

So much for that. australian middleweights will have to make do with World titles.

Not much consolation for Fletcher though.

Unexpected result, I favoured Saunders but didnt expect him to put Fletcher away in 2! Still Congrats to Fletcher for taking his '0' to the UK and putting it on the line agianst a very good fighter in Saunders he'll be better for the experience still has time on his said to build and have a suceesful career.

Saunders looks to be a great prospect though, he has some genuine pop to which is not always the case with alot of UK based fighters i guess its styles but looking through there rankings theres not alot of guys with high % of KO victorys, and alot of guys with many losses dont get stopped alot either. Thouhgts?

This is that strange situation we have in this country where the national champion is often not the best boxer in his division. Daniel Geale is the best middleweight in Australia but can't be Australian champion because he is a World Champion. jimmy Carruthers, Lionel Rose and Johnny Famechon all managed to be Australian, Commonwealth (or Empire) and World Champion at the same time. With the ANBF's "every child gets a prize" system this is now out of the question.

God knows what the ANBF would have thought of Henry Armstrong.

I totally agree Brute. The ANBF have ruined the Aussie title. In its present form it has become almost pointless.
The best fighter in the country should be the Aussie champ. It makes no sence to have the Aussie title on every Fox card being fought between the 4th,5th and sometimes lower ranked fighters in the weight class. The title has become about money and not prestige!!!!!.

Most on the British Forum, believe a very suspect stoppage. Very, very, early anyway.

I watched the fight and truly thought it was a tad early as well, but the Referee was in a better position to determine that.

I also must say that Saunder's was the better fighter for the one and a half rounds it went, he just never allowed Fletch to settle and he can no doubt bang a bit, because he did hurt Jarrod after the intial knock down as well.

So it may have been a touch early, but i believe that Saunders was on the way to winning the fight, the way it looked from that early stage.

I feel for Jarrod, Steve, Adam and the team, but it's just one loss, not the end of the world, he can come back from this, by getting back here and re-starting his career, there are some good fights for him, Garth Wood, Yannick, if he is still moving down to Middle, that's a damn good fight, maybe even Omar Shaick, all very winnable fights

I believe, apart from Geale and Soliman, Fletcher and Bryant, (who will fight shortly), are two of the best Middleweights we have.

I just hate the fact that another Aussie has lost overseas and we could not keep our run, that was started by Gealey going this year.

No Adam, it's there for all to see, pretty factual person as you know.

As I said Fletcher got hit quite a bit against Piper, if you going to replicate a style, you need to have what they have. And Geales chin is rock solid.

Thanks mate i seen the first two fights but couldn't stay awake any longer, i was shocked when i woke up extremely late today to see the surprise result.

I agree, he still has a lot to offer and it's just a bump in the road, Congrats to Saunders this fight will move him on to better things.

I wished the run could continue as well, but it go's to show you how good Geally is. And Germany x 2.
