hiya folks
first post from a new member to boxrec, though have posted elsewhere in the past. just thought id say hiya and introduce myself!
being a proud scotsman obviously the main interest is the resurgent scottish scene of the last few years. main men just now obviously being harrison and arthur. be interesting to see how alex comes back from the gomez defeat. all credit to gomez, belatedly, for that. i was at the fight and was without doubt the best fight ive ever witnessed live id honestly put it up their on a par with hagler hearns it was that good!
for anyone interested in the scottish scene or just a few names to keep an eye on id defenitaly recommend checkin out gary young pro record of about 10-0 boxes out of gilmerton in edinburgh. and for outstanding amatuers then craig mcewans your man, boxes around middlewight at amateurs out of clovenstone
big boxing history fan owning over 100 tapes, going back to johnson burns fight in 1906, of the best guys to lace the gloves on.
fave all timers.. young tyson, dempsey, hagler, marciano, la motta and of course the great kenny buchanan, a fellow edinburgh man
fave current fighters.. harrison (not fraudley)!, tapia got to say arthur too i guess though theres still a few big fault the lads got to sort out, calzaghe needs a fight and hatton just needs an opponent.
never had anytime for lummox wouldnt put him in my top 50 fighters of all time. not so much his ability that was lacking put his attitude and personality stank!! ok i guess i made a few enemies now with my first post
