Good luck Hearns

Ronald Hearns will make his professional boxing debut at Joe Louis Arena on April 2. Hearns is trained by the legendary Emanuel Steward, who also trained Roland's father, Thomas Hearns. Steward, in association with several Detroit businessmen, hopes to hold fights at the arena "every six weeks," according to today's Detroit Free Press.

If he turns out half as good as his dad then he'll be an excellent fighter.

be interesting to see how he gets on in the long term. theres no way he'll be as good as his old man. how many children have ever had the same amount of success as their world class parents in any walk of life?
no doubt no matter how well he does he'll always have the pressure of being tommys laddie. seems to me hes just adding to it using the same gym and trainers as his old man. he's just inviting useless and non constructive comparisions and probably critisism.

Anybody got any idea which weight he's likely to be fighting at?
If he turns out to only be a shadow of his dad, he could fight the sons of other greats!
I'll wish him luck, but it's a tough act to follow.

That's an interesting observation. Ray Leonard has at least one son and Duran's son is actually a pro. Marvelous Marvin has offspring too I believe. If the girls can do it, why not the boys?

Julio Ceasar Chavez has too boys boxing, ones just turned pro - the others' an amateur. Both have been impressive apparently thus far.

they showed chavez' son on the undercard of morales-chavez the other week and he didn't look up too much, if u held me to a prediction i can't c him making world level put it that way.
