Tested positive for marijuana. What a tool - add that to his furesimide ban and his drink driving ban.

He's gonna end up wrecked like his old man.

Not a performance enhancer so really they should cross it off the list. Can't see how it could ever help any boxer, although now with the vaporisation method not bad for physical health. Hah hahaha

This in a statement from Bob Arum
"You certainly worry about the repercussions, but we have a great commission in Nevada that understands what the social issues are," Arum said. "As far as I'm concerned, marijuana should be legal and you can quote me on that."
Arum said he's been told Chavez Jr. smoked marijuana "three weeks to a month out of breaking camp because he was having trouble sleeping … it was therapeutic use for insomnia."
"I'm making a moral judgment," he said. "It's legal in California … it has therapeutic effects. I'm not going to step back on this one: I don't think there's anything wrong with marijuana, and if I had a vote, I'd vote to legalize it. Let's not be sanctimonious here."

Could cannabis mask the presence of other performance enhancing drugs or diuretics? I don't know if it can, could anyone enlighten me?

I wonder if they can use this as an angle for a rematch - the hindering effect of Cannibis in a sport such as boxing.... loss of motivation, dulling of reflexes etc.

I'm half expecting Jose Suliaman to strip Martinez for taking advantage of a stoned Chavez.

He's got a bloody good chin though. He looks stoned, constantly taking punches and not going down!

It explains why he's so big tho. Must get the munchies a lot!

Basicially saying drugs are wrong, apart from when they are right. And they're bad, apart from when they're good...

I can't stand dope, i've got mates that are basically f*ckwits now from smoking it all their lives.
All you hear is what they are going to do, but then have another joint and its all forgotten.

 they have their moments, most of us got rid of that stuff years ago, but some didn't. Funny enough i bumped into one mate at B+Q last week, he was loading up grow bags into his car, i enquired if he was taking up gardening, which would be odd as he lives in a flat. Funny bit was he had taken his mum with him as she gets a OAP discount on a Wednesday.

Arum talks out his arse. If Martinez tested positive for this I bet he'd be screaming for the result to be changed.

For those saying it's not performance enhancing...if Chavez was high going into the fight, therefore threw less he offered fewer counter chances and was therefore less likely to be KO'd...would that not be considered enhancing his performance?

Was he high going into the fight or had he simply had a jigga or two a month or so earlier?

I doubt he was blazing up in the changies pre-fight.
