I found this really interesting.
Guy talking about sparring Holyfield, Lewis, Bowe, Tua, Foreman and Wlad.

Interesting. Boxings a small community and if you fight pro for even a short time, you never know who you might end up sparring with on a particular day. Surprised he didn't have more fights with the quality training he had going on.

Heavyweight boxing in particular is full of journeyman type guys doing rounds with top-level heavyweights, for the reason a) there simply aren't as many heavyweights, and often top guys aren't willing to be sparring partners of other top guys and b) of that number, not many are able to last a whole camp with a world-class heavyweight . .when its your job to basically last but get beat up in the process. It's very tough work.
I'm not sure who the poster is, but his opinions mirror those I've heard from other guys who've sparred top heavyweights. Slow plodders with big power but low activity like Tua and Peter often don't do well in sparring as they are more 'wear you down' fighters and their lack of speed enables guys to jab and box them for 3 rounds and then they get a break when most guys would begin tiring. Even Ibeabuchi used to get soundly outboxed by Kirk Johnson when they'd spar together in Texas.
The general word on Wlad Klitschko is that he's very hard to get inside on, hits like a mack truck, but can't take big shots (I know he's been dropped hard by several guys with pretty pedestrian records). What he says about Foreman sounds like what I've heard . . even in old age, Foreman's jab was the stuff of legend in the gyms. Makes one thing how much of a monster he was in the 70s.
