I can't see Harrison doing much at all to be honest. He didn't look very good last night and in fact looked like an old man. Maybe he'll look better in his next fight but fighting for a world title again? I'd seriously question why.

If he has serious hopes for fighting for a world title (on last nights performance he is further away than namesake Audley), he should prove himself at domestic level. Derry Matthews, Anthony Crolla and Martin Gethin would all have far too much for him.

It's all cynical BS match making.

He wasn't special in prime, and he sure as hell ain't now.

It's a ploy to extract the Scottish pound note, in the crudest possible way.

Watching the performance of burns last night, he beats a prime harrison
watching the performance of harrison last night, he shouldn't be in the same arena with burns let alone share a ring with him in his next fight

it will most likely happen as it'll sell.
Easy night for ricky and an easy payday then we can look forward to him aiming for bigger and better names next year

I'm not going to begrudge Harrison earning a few quid, not sure he's going to get any good paydays though. I think he might get a British title shot, there are fights for him, Matthews, Crolla, Walsh, Murray. Hopefully he makes enough to do something with his life.

Harrison is deluded thinking he can mix it with Burns or even Mitchell.

It would be an insult to all the hard working British lightweights if Harrison was to waltz straight into a shot vs Burns. Esp after that very tepid showing last night.

Spot on...he needs to demonstrate a lot more than he has in his two comeback bouts to even be considered as a realistic option.

They should match him with crolla, Mathews, Murray or Mitchell

There are very few things sadder than an old shot fighter trying to make a comeback . Reflexes gone , timing gone and even wincing everytime his opponent went to throw a punch . He did look strong though and if you stick your chin out for a few seconds he'll give you a sore one !

In the gym years ago I went into the ring to spar a young amateur when I was years too old . I moved him into a corner and this is how my thought processes went ................... He's going to throw a right hand ....... here it's coming ...............bang ............I need to duck . Once I recovered this is how my next thought process went ......... I'm going to throw a right jab..........he's in range ...........where'd he go? ........ My next thought process went like this .......... left leg over the middle rope .......followed by the right.........gloves off.

Scott looked OLD in there last night, he looked more vulnerable than his last fight, Burns would thrash him.

Exactly. I never understood the gushing praise Harrison got. People calling him the Scottish Mike Tyson.

He was a welterweight beating up on featherweights, and even then his punching power wasn't anything to write home about. He got totally outclassed by an old Medina and even journeyman Walter Estrada gave him problems.

He would have been ripped apart by any world level featherweights.

I think a text I received shortly after Scott's fight ended says it all:

" We want Scott Harrison."

I think this would be a good fight. I would actually think Scott would be too strong for Richard Commey. Would get to him at some point and he looked fragile against kris Hughes who's not a banger. Scott definitely is.

As for Ronnie Clark fighting Scott Harrison can't see that happening Scott basically fighting at Welterweight both his fights he is coming into the ring around the 11 stone mark.. Ronnie struggles to get to 10 stone.. In saying that it would be a good fight both quite similar just think that age and inactivity has caught up with Scott. Should never fight Burns that would be a bad one.

Very true, although if I were team Harrison I'd be pushing for it and trying to avoid the half dozen fringe fighters already mentioned earlier in the thread as they would beat him hands down. If he's gonna get beat/found out he may aswell get paid the most and get beat by the best. Not fair I know but that's what id be thinking in Harrisons boots.

Harrison fights Burns straight away

They fight before Christmas

Everyone earns a shed load of money

Burns moves back down and gets on with his career!

Scott weighed 9st 8 day before!!!

him and Joe both weighed 10st 5 on the day... i manage Joe and watched them both get on scales at same time

It was a v lacklustre performance, that. There's a goodcrop of British fighters in the division at the moment, and I don't think he could beat any of them
