Must be a UK thing (we've got a lot to be ashamed of).
Naz wore a grass skirt type effort for one fight, can't remember which one.
Steve Collins had some truly awful shorts in his last few fights.
Remember Lennox and his tent-like white bloomers, shocking, truly shocking.
Pele Reid's green and yellow made my eyes hurt for days.

There's just too many others to name. I'm starting to think that Deans shorts were not that bad. :D

Johnny Nelson's are stupid.

Lloyd Honeyghun's vs Curry,
Herol Graham's vs Chris Johnson (a tartan number if I'm not mistaken).
Hagler's velvet shorts were funny, especially the purply pink number he had on vs Duran.

Favourite shorts.

Tyson
Hearn's
Leonard vs Duran II

Well, I will be getting new ones designed for the next fight.

Anyone got any recommendations for a design?

Actually having crap shorts is quite a good idea, at least people remember you. More people remember the crap shorts as opposed to the good shorts - as this thread suggests.

Are you going to keep walking out to the Welsh national anthem? A design based on the Welsh falg might be in keeping. Maybe the black and yellow Cross of Saint David would be a bit more distinctive, as there's a few fighters out there with shorts incorporating the Red Dragon

Maybe something encorporating the Llanelli theme of Sosban fach (which I still think should be your walk in music) - perhaps the emblen used by Llanelli RFC.

The non-welsh fans would be treating it like Rocky "here comes Dean Phillips, with a sausepan on his trunk?!?!" - certainly get some attention.

As Big George rightly said when commentating on Oscar once: "I like the short shorts they make you look like an athlete, those long ones just make you look like a Grandpappy."

Short shorts are the best. Black with a white stripe, or white with a black strip, like the old timers used to wear. Flashy, camped up shorts are shit.

Remember Pinkleton Thomas's against Tyson? they were white at the first bell, but pink (diluted blood) by the KO. Can't stand the dress/tassle thing either!

Some of Camacho's and Paez's in the past go beyond all boundaries of taste. But at least they get remembered!

Meldrick Taylor's at Earl's Court against Crisanto Espana the night Lewis stuffed Razor Ruddock.

Meldrick got a real beating that night poor fella and wore a leather kind of medieval 'executioner'-type pair of shorts that looked woeful. Imagine Bernard Hopkins ring-walk headgear but with holes for legs cut in them. uuurrrgh! Taylor deserved a bashing just for wearing them alone.
