All Particpants please read, and act. Week 21 rehab plan.

With both camps outraged at the commisions blatant clumsy error in the case of Louis vs Tyson, any managers/fighters who feel they were damaged this week may apply for redux status. Appeals for week 21 will be granted on a case by case basis, beginning (and perhaps ending) with Louis and Tyson. Louis's Title is hereby restored. Tyson's only claim on this may be political in nature. He was a victim of commish error. And thus may be able to whine and complain loudly for weeks to come about just how good he really is.

The fight is a No Contest. Like James Toney, Mike Tyson will be a phantom champ...(in this case through no fault of his own.)

I'd like to wrap this process up promptly. Please vote or make suggestion in the "What's a commish to do" Thread

Steps taken to assure integrity in the future:

*No further final listings of fights will be posted without
A: The managers written acceptance of a fight appearing in the match thread
B: In the case of the event needing to be run due to time barriers, the participants will approve an option for moving forward.
C: The options are listed in the "What's a commish to do" sticky. Please review and vote. Or offer a better suggestion.
D: Once a "plan b" is authorized by plurality of votes, that is what you can expect in the future in cases such as this.

I run the fights as they are posted. These days, my home life does not allow me a lot of free time, so I don't always get the chance to review all details. I'm not throwing Crease and is hard work under the bus as it is my responsiblity to get it right. I take full responsiblity.

So when the time comes that an event is to take place....(not always predictable, but generally on Sunday evenings) Crease needs a way to acceptably match fighters for those who have not had time to choose. I have offered some suggestions in the poll. Please review and vote. (Yes postponing the events for another week is an option, I'll place it in the mix, but I'm not crazy about the delay option).

This will not happen again.

That is massively unfair to Mike Tyson as he fought and beat Louis fairly. My proposal - accept Tyson's victory and give Louis an immediate rematch is much better for the continuity of the Sim.

Who cares if it's unfair to Tyson? It wasn't supposed to happen so wether or not it's fair after the fact isn't fair to Louis.

Sign the rematch, Louis is now, oh excuse me, as of last week under your control. You can take Gans too if you want, or just dump him in the cpu pool.

Anyone that feels like it can let me know when next season starts.

There's a simple admin error and you throw your toys out of the pram?

I am offering you a chance to become a seven time World Champion should you win this week. (Something that has NEVER been down in Sim history).

Screwing a fighter and then not rectifying it also has not been done. Whatever, I'll take the rematch, next time read the thread before assigning a fight for someone that has never missed a fight thread. I don't see how rerunning it is such a big deal but a rematch will have to do.

I do want to say sorry to kevo, u and Tyson are not meant to be admonished in any way.

No worries mate, I didn't sign for the fight, so I have no problem with the result being scrubbed.

I was attempting, albeit selfishly, to set Louis up to fight the winner of the tourney. That seemed like the best way to establish a true #1 fighter but now that Tyson smacked him around I feel like a "rematch" and if Louis were to win then a rubber match should probably happen... wha a can o worms. Lol

Then, Sanchez will fight Spinks for the WTF Title.

The claim is made, so don't you go trying to ignore this match-up Crease.

Crease, just be sure when we "underwrite" a fight, we have authority to do so.

And to do so we need to decide on one of those policies in the "whats a commish 2 do" thread.

I did not know that sock and kevo were not on board or I would have served as a "brake" to the process.

Once the events thread says that all fighters have a partner....I tend to blindly plunge ahead.

With that said it appears that there is a disagreement between myself and Crease for the moment.

I stand by the idea that Louis does not need to recognize the outcome of a fight that was NEVER AGREED TO BY PROPER AUTHORITY>

And Kevo has not contested this error that the joint commission has single handedly created. So we have options and I remain of the opinion that this should be a No-Contest......this outcome should not be "etched in stone" to make it easy for myself and Crease. It seems inherantly unfair. IF it was the Lonsdale title which has a constitution that surpasses that of organizations with policies and procedures it would have to stand. Even an unsanctioned back alley fight would pass the torch in that case.

But Louis held civilized titles. The Rulebook must be honored. And this was indeed a folly by the joint commish.

Leonard and Armstrong had been run, but not posted....I'll post that this evening. I discovered that error last night but the internet or my computer was so slow it would not upload the data.

I believe we can incorporate everyone's ideas by calling last week an NC. If Sock and Kevo were to agree, have them match-up this week and then the winner faces Villa in week 23.

Sound reasonable?

If Louis were to win the rematch then a rubber match should be given to make it fairto Tyson. Or we do a redo with the proposed fights... I don't know what to do at his point.

Was Toney vs Ruiz rematched? No.... This was a no contest if ever there was one. My opinion is to leave it at that.

Is it someones suggestion that we pull a "Dallas" and the entire week be run again? I think every losing manager would say YES! and every winning manager would say WTF? Which would leave us in deadlock. lol.

We do need to come up with both an answer for this weeks kettle of fish, AND a future plan so it's never repeated.

Sock has put a solution on the table, it's not particularly a good one from my point of view, but it does offer us another way out besides my No Contest solution. I'd rather this be decided by the managers who have been victimized by my indiscretion rather than by me or Crease.

Here are the viable choices thus far.

Solution 1: Louis vs Tyson is a No Contest and we just move forward to event 22.
Solution 2: Louis and Tyson go for 1 maybe 2 more matches to come up with the 2 out of 3 winner, and THEN we move on to event 22.

Those fighters who were denied there shot at these champions may also have a beef. Perhaps they can have their shot in week 22?

We need to decide, and make this process short, sweet, and hopefully effective. Justice delayed/ Justice denied. Some harm has come, no way around it. But we need to solve it, and move on. ASAP.

Should we publicly flog Crease, as punishment for his most recent crime?

This seems fair to all.

This is a good idea. The winner of the series should get one weeks worth of points, and we can crack on.

I'm ok with a no contest. It'd probably be easier on all involved. Surely mr Tyson, destroyer of dreams, will receive a shot soon.

Lets hear from Kevo regarding Sock's suggestion. If it is agreeable to them it should be good enough for the rest of us.

Once a solution for this week has been nailed down, Event 22 can begin to be scheduled.

Crease,

the final word on this matter is:

Tyson and Louis receive the points that would be due as if the fight were an actual contest This should have little if any impact on the point scores, but gives a small nod to Tyson for his innocent act of clobbering a champion, though he was acting without authority to do so.

No title has changed hands as a result of this "No Contest" bout.

Thanks for everyone's patience in this matter.

I will leave this thread open for two more days, and then lock it if there are no more matters to be considered regarding this rather ugly chapter in sim history.

The result of the fight will be changed to "No Contest" then, and it shall stay that way...
Let's move on.

The matter of the unauthorized Joe Louis vs Mike Tyson face off during event 21, is now settled.

CASE CLOSED.
