This the first time i have participated on a boxing forum and given my lack of computer skills it will probably be my last.
Having been told recently about certain allegations made towards me, i have reluctantly decided to clarify some of the inaccuracies that have been leveled my way.
Why a certain former member of the anbf queensland has taken it upon himself to slur certain members of the association that he was a member of for almost two decades is a question only he can answer, but i believe it is within my rights to put a few things straight concerning myself.
Firstly, concerning a wbo bout i refereed in nz a few years ago, I disqualified a boxer for continually hitting his opponent whilst he was on the ground. At the time the promoter, who i believe was the disqualifed boxers manager, lodged a protest with the wbo and a panel was formed to hear the appeal. The upshot of the appeal was the panel upheld my decision to disqualify the boxer but ordered a rematch due to the controversial ending to the bout. The wbo commissioner for that bout was nzpba secretary Mr Pat Leonard. I spoke to Mr leonard recently regarding my so called ban from referring in nz and he found it quite amusing as it was the first he had heard of it.
In may of this year i officiated an ibo world title bout in singapore where it has been said that i was the worst for wear with drink the night before the fight and had been shown the door by the ibo for my misconduct. Nothing could be further from the truth, my behaviour in singapore has never been questioned and in the last week i have recieved confirmation from the ibo for an appointment back in singapore on november 9
Regarding the comments that i am constantly in contact with anton sevsak feeding him gossip about the former member, in reality i would have spoken to mr sevsak 4 maybe 5 times in the past 6 years and on those occasions the talk was the regarding the sport of boxing. I have neither the time or the inclination to spend my days getting involved in other peoples squabbles and fueds. The fact is, i would have as much interest in Kylamy's day to day life as he would have in mine. Nil.
If anyone reading this is expecting me to let fly with personal or professional insults toward this certain person they will be dissapointed. I have nothing derogatory to say about his officiating skills and i will be making no personal judgements on the man as i don't know him. Once upon a time i believed i did but as it turned out i was mistaken.
Now on to my attempt at membership of the wpbf. Interesting concept except until yesterday i had never heard of them. I have never made any contact with the wpbf, whoever the hell they are, have never forwarded a resume of any kind to them and have no knowledge whatsoever of any fight on any pacific island that they may be involved in.
I understand that i can deny the above until the cows come home but as we all know, talk is cheap so i'm happy to take my denial one step further.
I am prepared to put $1000 in Kylamy's pocket if he can produce concrete evidence that i have ever been in contact with this wpbf, sent them a resume or applied for membership. Naturally, should he be unable to produce this proof i will more than happy to accepy $1000 from him. In other word, a bet or another term that is commonly used "put up or shut up"
I would like nothing more than to have my name kept out of his ridiculous wars but on the other hand i appreciate his right to comment on my officiating abilities, or lack of. Personal slurs on social media do little but highlight the character of the person making them.
I sincerely hope that in the future i will left out of his wild rants and can continue to serve the sport i love.
