Battle of the South African Heavies, and a fight that I am amazed never took place who do you would win between the White Buffalo Francois Botha and the Sniper Corrie Sanders.

Sanders would win by death, Langers.

Although there is an outside chance that Corrie would fvck it up for himself by running out of gas pinging 1034 left crosses off of Botha's jowly steroid-face, but...

No. Sanders by death. Somewhere between what Lewis did to him & what Wlad did to him. Except he was quicker than both & I think would've hit Botha as often as Moorer did (but with far more deleterious results.

So you see the quick handed Sanders turning Botha into a 240 pound + pizza then and I would agree with you on Sanders making a mess of Botha as he had the quicker hands than Moorer.

They fought 3 or 4 times in the AMs and Corrie won every time. Same would've happened in the pros.

Sanders's left would've done what Tyson's right did, except that Corrie wouldn't have been behind on points when that left paw struck.

Corrie was a four time amateur champion down there before he turned professional.

I concur, Sanders via a onesided stoppage or KO. Probably in about 6.

There's a chance Botha could outlast him, though. Yes, Sanders was faster and hit harder, but Botha had a fair chin and could go 10 in a hard fight. If Botha saw out the first half of the fight I wouldn't bet against him outlasting Sanders.

Don't think he could take Corrie's best. He certainly didn't take Mike's or Lennox's, and I think Corrie was in their league in terms of power.

Or Wladimir Klitchsko's either when Wladimir was an utter monster of an offensive fighter before people started bouncing him off the canvas.

Good points, but you have to consider not merely the power of the punches but the ability to deliver them, and even if Sanders did have power comparable with Lewis, Klitschko, etc, he obviously wasn't as talented as them. You can cite Botha's top-level losses as evidence of a Sanders win, but what about Sanders being outlasted by Hasim Rahman?

I rate him higher than Botha. He also showed better recuperative ability. If past-prime Tyson could reach Botha, I think Corrie could, and it only takes one with his chin IMHO.

Wow Henry, you really are all over these threads !!! Hard to disagree with you that Corey would have KO'd Botha, but Botha had a massively underatted chin, he took a hell of a lot of punishment against some of the hardest hitters in the history of the sport, Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield, Wladimir Klitschko, Joseph Parker, hell he even went the distance with Shannon Briggs !!!

PROVIDED that it was the motivated and fierce Sanders showing up and not the laxidasical version.

Sanders KO'ed Botha 3 times in amateurs. Botha lasted the distance only once against him in the amateurs.

I don't think even Botha thinks he could have won. Corrie spoke quite fondly of Francois, Harold bigged up the wins I think he said he knocked him out 5 times. I think it was 4 times they fought in the Amateurs.

Botha would have been 'swatting air" trying to land a punch on "the Sniper"

Sanders' punch would have been too hard for Botha's chin, Corrie by KO.

Are you accusing Sanders of being a good defensive fighter? He is innocent of that charge.

Remember when Bobby Czyz thought he could beat the overrated Corrie Sanders? That was hilarious. Same results here
