No idea, but if you've ever read the Sweet Science I'm sure you'll be as boggled as I was when Marciano's cornermen admit to using "quick-hardening plastic cement" or some such shit to patch his face back together between rounds.
Things are dodgy in boxing today, but fornicate me they used to be so much worse!

I have. Saad's cutman Adolf Ritacco (sp?) was suspended for what he did.

Used an illegal substance to treat Saad's cut. I think it contained too much adrenalin, though I'm not well-versed in the medical terminology of cut medication.

This substance was legal at the time. It was very dangerous to use though as you had to literally cut it out of the wound and if it got in to the eye it could blind you.
