Does anyone know where I can get a copy of "The Fighting Guardsman" By Evan Treharne?
Jack Gardner strongly resembles me and my Gardner family members. He had a record of 28 - 6 (23 KO's) was never counted out during his career, only losing by TKO due to cuts. Gardner had KO power in both hands.
He had a short career, but was No. 8 Contender in 1950 even being rated above Rocky Marciano in Ring Magazine.
Gardner stood 6' 1, or 6' 2, and weighed 220 lbs., well built, dark complexioned, and shy and quiet.
Any information on him?
