Asked him why does he still fight fat bums even tho Price/Fury have had half the fights/fighting better opponants on twitter and this was his reaction :

Doesn't even make sense... how you gonna knock their block off when they're miles ahead. My theory is that he is seriously holding back until the Klits retire and hoping Fury and Price get beat eventually so he has an easier route

Thing is I actually liked him at the beginning. I have no idea how good he actually is. You do look at his opponants and think 'even I'ld have a shot...'

In other words, he doesn't think he's ready for, or doesn't want to fight, tougher opposition yet. He's not got much experience, so I'm sure he's doing the right thing by fighting regularly, but I do also think he needs to get more rounds in.

Hes going to have to step up at some point , otherwise no one will want to watch him anymore , would be counter productive in the end

It's been four years and 25 fights... he been pro exactly the same time as Price and Fury, claims his better but hasn't even fought anyone as good as McDermott yet

I think his record is better than some people realise.

Wilder has only been boxing since he was 19, if I recall correctly, so he's relatively raw in comparison to most other boxers. I think his handlers are worried about maintaining a zero loss record. The moment Wilder starts fighting better opposition he has to stay at that level; quicker progression towards a fight with a Klitschko. IMO, his handlers are waiting for the Klitschkos to retire.

The Klitschkos retiring could be one of the best things to happen to the heavyweight division for quite a long time.

What people don't realise is that Wilder has a massive tumor on his left testicle. After surgery his expected weight should be around 168 pounds.

When he returns to super middleweight where he belongs, people will realise just how good he's been.

Don't panic though, it's benign

He has a decent amateur pedigree as well which is more of a reason to be surprised by the quality of his opposition so far. Even for the crap opposition he has faced so far, he's shown he's a mobile, athletic heavyweight and by winning his first 25 fights by knockout at least he is proving he has good one punch power to be getting rid of these guys quickly regardless of their level. We'll know nothing more until he is matched with a guy who is capable of punching back though!

x2;Wider is not a bad fighter at all; there are more heavyweights to box and shows to earn on in America so they do things differently. It's nice that a decent heavyweight prospect got back to you; there have been less established boxers that have had a right go on twitter for far less.

Manswell, Reed and Beck are ok names to have on your resume, but you'd hope they would be the best wins on a 10-15 fight record not a 25 fight record.

if the kid didn't have an olympic medal, would he not be bracketed with a Dimitri Salita in terms of what he's achieved so far?

I happen to think theres a decent addition to the division in there waiting to break out, but he needs moving upwards now or risk completely stagnating by the time his prime years hit.
