If Frankie wins wide on points or gets junior out of there in style, could he be in the brook, khan, hatton mix by the end of 2013 ?
I believe he has the talent to but would personally like him to go down the European route for at least next year !
Any thoughts ?

No. Well, could be for 'promotional reasons' I suppose but I doubt it.

For a start, the more convincingly he beats Witter (if he does) the more people will say that Junior was way past his peak. I mean, he is - it was a good peak though.

He needs a few tough challenges.

If Gavin beats Witter would he be seen as suitable opposition for Brook, let alone Khan or Hatton? IMO the answer is no, not off the back of Witter.

Heres a scenario - Purdy smashes Carson Jones, Gavin smashes Purdy... lets revisit it at that point.

Heres another scenario, Jones smashes Purdy and Gavin fights neither!

I think it has to put Gavin up there. Don't think Gavin needs to be rushed too far on though. World title early 2014 IMO, 5 more fights.

If he beats Witter tidily maybe get him in with Matthew Hatton. Not sure how hard that would be to make.

After Matthews' performance last night I'm not sure Frankie would be in a rush to box him. Matthew v Lee Purdy would be an excellent bout.

I expected big things from Gavin when he turned pro but due to personal problems and what not he,s just not got going yet, i thought he would have had a title by now. i hope hes over his problems cos he,s in danger of wasting his talent . im not entirely sure he,s been active enough to actually deserve a shot at the British but i do hope he wins it cos Witters one of the fighters i hate watching most, when he fought victor lupo  worst fight ever

Bloody hell, do you think Frankie would avoid him?

I suppose this is the forum that said he'd avoid Witter, and was avoiding Adnan Amar.

Tut, tut, tut..... :shame:

Hatton is a tough bout for anyone in Europe, I dare say that Frankie would be happy to get in with anyone more or less but it's a xase of is the risk worth the reward? Matthew is very durable, fit and is hitting hard - he is a potential banana skin for a prospect. Frankie has a tough bout to win in any case and no doubt will be concentrating on that.

Oh right, see what you mean :TU:

I think Matthew is a tough test but currently brings little (bar surname) to the table in terms of reward. I just think its about levels though, I think it would be a one sided ud to Gavin.

As you say, more pressing matters await...

That Anwar looked capable last night, Miles is a hard hitting and very game southpaw. Anwar should be in the mix now.

Anwar is very good. The poster Tijuana1 named him in a topic about prospects nobody had heard of a while ago and was laughed at! I think he will start drawing a crowd in Leeds now, too. He has always sold a good few but i think at British title level could probably fill the town hall. A bit like Carl Johannesson, who learnt his trade quietly as well.
