Fairly loaded answers there. Where's the 'Decent keep busy at short notice following a 1 round blow out'

Decent of you considering your support for Luke
Also, if this was his opponent for Feb/March I'd be very against this match up

He wants the lonsdale belt to keep, skelton is easily made. Also, who else is there?

I'm not sure, but there must be someone who isn't 45.

Not really, in the uk. Towers was awful in his fight on the rhodes undercard, sprott suspended, sexton dealt with, Mcdermott....? Who is there in the UK?

Interesting location for a fight and really opens him up to price

He doesn't have to fight someone in the UK. James Toney and Frans Boath are a year younger than Skelton FFS. It's a complete mismatch.
Why not Mike Perez, Tom Hamer or Steve Cunningham?

He does if he wants the lonsdale belt for keeps, one of the greatest achievments in british boxing.

I agree mate. the Lonsdale belt is awesome, but this fight is an awful match.

Before the fight everyone was saying it good match up for either Price or Fury, Price destroys him in a round in front of 8000 (how many British title fights get that) and its shit matchmaking everyone's a genius afterwords. As for Skelton its a good keep busy fight at 8 weeks notice Price clearly wants to win the belt for keeps as quick as possible so he can move on to European level.
Lets look at the possibilities
Haye- Never happening
Chisora- Suspended
Fury- T.v complications
Towers- Limited and if the fight did get made people on here would go mad
Sprott- Suspended
Sexton- Beat
McDermott- Beat
Rogan- Past it and Price wouldn't take the fight after Fury beat him
Whyte- To inexperienced
Dallas- Beat

It is a good keep busy fight for David Price as he looks to win a Lonsdale for keeps and progress up the rankings etc against a former British, Commonwealth and European champion in the shape of Matt Skelton who will also know that at 45 this will be certainly his last chance at major honours and I see Price having too much for Skelton in terms of power, youth and ability in my eyes.

I don't see any reason why Price shouldn't be able to win his Lonsdale belt outright by Christmas and think about moving forward in 2013. Skelton had a short night too. It's not a great step up but I rate Skelton as a nightmare like Sakio Bika- tough, head flying, relentless ploughing forward.
Yeah, Skelton is a credible defence. Audley was a credible defence too. He got hurt bad and Price brutally finished him. (That crowd treated Harrison poorly lastnight).
Every time I think of Fury I see that guy Pajik(?) swinging, with his eyes squeezed shut and landing clean on Fury's chin. Sorry, I don't believe the Fury hype yet.
Did anyone see Fury on Ch5 lastnight? He had a go at trash talking but didn't do himself any justice.

Price will fight the winner of Towers v Browne unless he decides to vacate after the Skelton fight.

He needs two more wins to win it outright, so by christmas isnt posible. If towers beats the aussie guy in hong kong (commonwealth eliminator) i guess price towers will happen after skelton.

I think the one thing Skelton will do is be a pain in the backside for Price. He'll make it as horrible and difficult as he can. It may be a poor matchup in terms of predicted outcome, but Skelton has the style and durability to give Price experience of an awkward rough opponent and it may help get a better feel for Price's actual power than Harrison showed. I voted good learning fight and glad he's keeping busy.

Just wondered who they have lined up for Fury next.
Hope it's a step up from Martin Rogan and Vinny Maddalone.
