A lot has been said about Maloney's 'offer' of £500k to Fury. But if you actually listen to the interview, he states that there is "half a million on the table for that fight".
Who's to say he meant an overall pot of £500,000 rather than Fury's individual purse?

This fight would be huge and Frank would make a killing, the offer is not as ridicules as people are making out

Audley Harrison offered Scott Gammer 100k to fight him after he had beaten Williams and that was years ago, and that was a British level fight. Fury vs Price is a fight between 2 guys who are rated highly both in Europe and the World and it would pack out somewhere like the MEN arena which is a 17,000 seat stadium. I don't think the offer is that outrageous.

Hennesy offered Price £200,000 before Fury vacated (to avoid it going to purse bids) but Price turned it down.

It was £100k mate.

You're right mate.

I stand corrected.
After the fight Price would be seeing double, so it would look like £200,000.

I don't think the fight would sell out the MEN. Price has headlined in the Echo arena and drawn big numbers in the Echo. What has been the biggest numbers Fury has drawn ? a few hundred.

It would sell out the M.E.N right now. Seriously. And a few thousand will have been at a few of Fury's fights.

Agreed. Fury-Chisora got close to 10,000 at Wembley Arena and that was before either fighter was as well known as they are now. Fury fighting at home in Manchester with Price from Liverpool down the road...would the Mancs and Scousers pass up a good old derby dust up? Not a chance, especially with last night's antics, that fight would sell out easily.

I do think it will sell out the MEN because Manchester and Liveprool are two great fight cities and the public up there know and love their boxing so they woulld a very very healthy demand for it ever happened, and looking at last night it is great that a British title fight can get a crowd of nearly 10,000 as well which shows that the fight game here in the UK is still in great shape.

Thought Fury was from Ireland and already had his "home coming" in Belfast?

Jessi,
I am sure I read that Price (so I assume Maloney also) signed a deal with allegedly which went beyond the Harrison fight.

What in the Pepsi Center Quebec, which was a Jean Pascal / Piere Cote crowd, the 02 Dublin, which was a Dunne crowd or the Wembly arena, which was a crowd favoured towards Chisora.
The question I am asking does Fury have drawing power in around Manchester because he hasn't fought in anywhere big in the Manchester area.
Price can draw that is obvious.

The MEN does not really do the same with Fury. The best numbers would be done at the Scouse end of the A580.
Maybe so, Macho, but if the fight is made I can see Fury playing on the manc vs scouse angle to generate interest.
I think this will sell out whether it be in Liverpool or Manchester.

It will definitely sell out in Liverpool no doubt about that because a full Echo arena has a capacity of 8,000. It wont sell out a 22,000 MEN. Khan rarely sells out the MEN.

Didn't realise the MEN was that big. I know the Echo Arena can stretch itself to a few more seats, but maybe that's just for concerts.

I think it would do really well in MEN Arena. Manchester is a great fight city, we know our boxing up here and people really do come out when there's a decent event on e.g. David Haye did really well (sold out I think?) and got a rapturous reception vs John Ruiz. Hatton sells out in 2 seconds flat fror obvious reasons, but I do think that manchester is a good place for big boxing shows, not enough of them.
