Tough, tough fight. Johnson is a few years past his best, but he'll be a proper challenge.

That's a fantastic fight. Johnson is in no way shot and gave Froch a tough fight. Well done Groves for taking it and Frank W@rren for putting it together.

This is a very good learning fight for Groves. Fully expect him to win but he'll be given a thorough work out.

Anyway cracking fight for Groves , without doubt his biggest test to date .

could you imagine what glen johnson would have done to degale if he'd fought him the other night! its a good fight for groves to take , but i think johnson is still dangerous to anyone who is not top class. i suppose we will find out if groves can take this last step up to see if he can mix it with the big boys

Hope the BBBOC do their job and block this.

This should be a great fight.....watching Groves in his last fight I really felt he had come on a lot more in punching power.

Though he had retired too, after his last fight a wide UD loss to Fonfara-who fights the world famous Tommy Karpency next- he said:

“I feel like the end of the road is here. Father Time is undefeated. I really see no reason to move forward. If I can’t win a fight like this, I won’t achieve my ultimate goal, which is being a world champion. So if I can’t be a world champion then what’s the use?”

Its perfect timing for Groves IMO, Johnson showed very little against Fonfara and has slipped considerably. I guess the bigger question going into this fight is can Groves be the first man to stop Johnson since Hopkins over 15 years ago.

Yes it is a great fight as Johnson is not one to be stopped and is a great learning fight for George. You know that Johnson won't want to lose any pride so will still put up a fight. I don't see how anyone can slag off this fight??!! If Johsnon had been KO'd in his last few fights then yes you would have a reason to question this, but he hasn't.

Groves is still learning the game.

Yeah, he underwent double-elbow surgery about 10 months ago. They were in a mess apparently. He had one giving him issues against Froch, then post-fight was told the other had gone too.

He postponed surgery to 'spar' Bute and brought none of his usual pressure. Against Fonfara he lost nearly all 10 rounds in July.

Good name and if it's the same GJ that Froch fought, a good fight.

To be fair, Tyson and Price are heavyweights, so if they fought Johnson they'd have a hell of a size advantage.

Good fight this. Being that the main event features a TBA opponent, I'm more interested in this one.

No too bad a fight but I really thought Johnson would have stayed retired. Nearly 20 years between them. Glen Johnson fighting for the commonwealth title at 43 who'd have believed it.

It's hardly a freakshow fight. It's intriguing. If anything it could well backfire on Team Wazza as GG is very much still learning. Whereas Johnson doesn't just know the ropes, he wove them.

Anybody seriously NOT going to watch this fight?

good learning fight for Groves.i think he wins ith maybe late on stoppage as GJ is getting on to put it nicely but he'll be given a thorough fight for 6-7 rounds then GJ will be too tired imo

Ive got a feeling it won't happen. Johnson will pull out last minute and won't fancy it. Every time I have bought tickets to Excel shows the main fights always get changed.

Groves 'should' win, i suspect in a hit and run style, but i wont be surprised if the old road warrior sparks him out.

Its a good learning fight for Groves, his performce here should give us a good idea of how far along he is in regards to mixing it with the elite at 168lbs.
