I'm really looking forward to this bout; it should be a very hard fought contest. I can imagine Kenny outworking Robin through the middle rounds to a points win but he will have to keep his chin down -Read still hits very hard, (incredible that he was a '92 Olympian and Bronze medalist).

How will this one go? A shootout, a boxing contest, a brawl or a bore?

I think Reid is an excuse merchant myself. He blamed the loss to Froch on 'loads of injuries in camp' but was fighting a man who had his anterior cruciate repaired 12 weeks before.

He rolled out the 'never won a british title and its the one i really really wanted' line back then in 2007.

5 years on and a few bottles of just-for-men later and he's supposed to be giving Kenny a good fight? nah !

He's well past it and has been for a long long time. And i say that as a big fan of his back in the day.

I think it's decent movement and a bit of an engine, alongside a good outside game that will do for Anderson. Reid's not got the legs anymore for me. I don't think his chins gone and obviously he's well schooled but I can't see him keeping a good enough pace to win. Anderson can be very one paced himself though. If he gets rid of Reid in the first 8 it'll be a good performance.

Kenny - not one given to compliments as a rule - has lots of respect for the Reaperman:

Don't think he'll show too much respect for him once the bell goes mind you.

I think this will be a war whilst it lasts, Reid knows this is his last shot so he's gonna go out swinging and Anderson is hardly ever in a dull fight

anderson should stop him by the 8th

I think I'm maybe being unfair to Reid, he is still swinging at British level.

Especially when you remember his fight with Jeff Lacy.

I bet Reid would probably beat Lacy now. It goes to show how 6 years is an incredibly long time in boxing, when you look where Jeff was then and now he's been retired for 2 years.

i think this one will be over early , within first 3 rounds stoppage win for Anderson

Might stick couple quid on the first round , he has the power

what merited Ried to get this shot ? , i saw him in prizefighter and he won a fight before that but since then has he had a few wins?

Well, he is fighting for the British title on Saturday night, and probably a decent purse. Point proven!

I dont think he will have made enough to live on, so the money will help. He never really cashed in on his W.B.C reign and his looks, etc. He should have been a big star.

Agreed mate. Thought he would be comfortable.
I always worry about fighters prolonging careers when in truth they dont have anything to prove and its about other things.
Hope it goes well, but I fear Robin may get stopped.

I like Kenny Anderson, his willingness to fight, the fact he will fight anyone but on here he has had this cloak of invicibility invented as if he is some sort of monster.

He's a good domestic fighter until he proves otherwise.

Reid is close to shot but lets not make out that Kenny is some sort of monster shall we

Anderson should comfortably dispose of reid maybe in 3 rounds.
Still don't think he's in the same league as degale/groves let alone froch.

On the last few showings, I can't see Robin lasting 12 rounds with a fit hungry, strong fighter like Anderson. He might be ok for a few rounds and he is quite adept at spoiling, he's learnt all the tricks of the trade, but I do think that Anderson will get to him eventually when Reid tires.

I like Kenny, he's from not that far away from me and as a Scot I want him to do well. He's also a seriously tough sod and will give anyone a go. However some posters do seem to over rate him a fair bit IMO. I remember watching him do 10 with Nathan King 3/4 years ago at the Bellahouston and it was dreadful stuff, King was a touch unlucky not to get the nod.

Not saying Anderson hasn't improved but while solid King wasn't top class by any means
