The Olympia in Liverpool. Its falling apart its cold in the winter the facilities such as the toilets arent great.

That said you get a fantastic view anywhere in the house and the atmosphere is electric and there is no better setting than the old ballroom for a bit of boxing.

Yeah the MEN or Manchester Arena as it now called is quite intimate but holds a lot of people at the same time! Nice location in the middle of everything in Manchester!

Not necessarily saying it's the best in the country but imo the view in the cheaper seats in liverpool echo are much better than those in the MEN. Nearer ringside they're about the same. I've experienced better atmospheres at MEN but i think that's more down to the fighters involved.

The M.E.N if you can handle the fights braking out all over the place and dont mind queing behind a few hundred cokeheads for the toilets

Can't beat the York Hall.

Also never had a bad experience at the O2 in London.

Skydome arena coventry. Only been to one event there and i had a wander round to see a few people and the views were good all over.

If i was a promoter, i would definitely consider this arena in the heart of the midlands with fantastic transport links to the rest of the country! I could imagine it being a neutral venue for a domestic dust up between a northen monkey and southern fairy

Did you see the McPhilbin fight in L'pool last weekend?

The O2 definitely has the best facilities and for me is the best overall. The location of it isn't the best however as getting back from that part of London after the last tube has gone is a nightmare.

The Echo Arena is a nice arena and good location on the Docks. Awful selection of drinks and food though.

MEN ok but not my favourite.

Someone needs to bring big fights back to the NEC in Birmingham

Agree on both. I like Wembley too but thats mainly for convenience.

It looks very similar to the 02 Dublin. I was there for both Bernard Dunne fights and its a great view in the 02 Dublin, however I should point out that the way the promotional video sets up the arena to be doesn't look like it will be great because the ring looks very close to the back wall, which will give fans a bad view. In Dublin the ring was place close to the stands on both occasions, giving the fans in the stand a good view as well as people in ringside.

For atmosphere it will be incredible though. The atmosphere in the 02 for Dunne / Cordoba was just immense. So loud and brilliant.

Also, who will fight in the arena. Froch or Brook wont want to because they have established strong bases in both Nottingham and Sheffield. Can't think of a fighter from Leeds aswell. Witter is the nearest fighter to Leeds that I know of.

nottingham arena is not too bad, decent area of the city and decent transport lincs.

Loved the O2 London, but what a ball ache getting back to the hotel, and we could see it just over the water.

Leeds has some excellent young amateurs coming through who might be ready in a few years. Anwar and Jones have the best prospects of the current pro's but i agree, no arena fighters yet. Witter could not fill the Town Hall, regardless of where he is from.

Newcastle doesn't have any arena fighters but there's still been cards at the Metro Radio Arena. Lets be honest, there's only about three arena fighters in the whole of the UK.

Modern arenas can be scaled down so a venue which holds 12,000 can be adapted for a crowd of half that size as is the case with Kell Brook's fight tonight.
