Just trying to work out the weird undercurrent with the analysis team tonight. I have no idea if it's a bit of matey pub banter or if Froch is actually mocking McCrory? What's going on? (if anything)

In fairness, McCrory has no business being there. He wasn't much of a boxer and has never been insightful, articulate or entertaining in 20 years on the Sky pundit payroll. Seems a nice bloke but God he's always been painful to listening to.

The best quote I have seen on Boxrec. He's useless and Ive been saying it for years. I think its sentimental why they keep him on there as he was there at the start.

I like Froch taking the piss out of him because he can't reply as he's not on his level!!!

McCrory may well be one of Britains worst World champions, but he was a World champion none the less.

It was a couple of remarks. I didn't listen all the way through but at one point Froch pointed out McCrory didn't have a Lonsdale belt. Later McCrory stated he won a world title on home soil and Froch said "you won a world title?". Stuff of that nature.

I think McCrory is dreadful, but there's something of the bully in Froch - why is a young strong man in his prime mocking an ex-fighter pushing 50?

I like Glenn hes like the straightman to the more vocal and opinionated nelson/mcguigan etc.Its the blend of the commentary that makes it watchable i liked him alongside Ian Darke as well.As for boxing a world title and 100 rounds sparred with a peak Tyson certainly give him the credentials to express his opinion, which he gets wrong now and again , but then dont we all?

I think he's Dave Clarks brother, there's a bit of resemblance there.

I just took it as banter, as McRory keeps mentioning that he has won a world title and Froch just said 'Really, you havent mentioned it' type of response. Just banter really!

Angry, chip-on-shoulder etc. makes him the fighter he is though in my opinion.

Mate, there are many people who have sparred 100 rds with Tyson that we wouldn't employ as an analyst. Anyone for Mike Williams on the pundit team? Oliver McCall?

He has the right to express his opinion, we all do, but on TV? He struggles to speak and talks only in the most obvious and hackneyed sporting cliches. Ian had to drag insight out of him and despite being the ex pro he just seemed to follow whatever Darke was saying. Not exactly like Leonard, Foreman, RJJ etc who would pull up suited up slicked back commentators on their bollocks.

I seen Glenn get chinned off a 18yr old outside the local co-op 15yrs ago. I hope Froch doesn't have a pop at him tonight it would be a mismatch.

McCrory is a bit, in a way, like keys and gray were on sky. Always been there so always gona be there, even though its clear all round theyre dated. Grays 1980s ideas of "your one down so gerrit in box to the big man" always pissed me off. Moore, froch and even martin murray have been far more insightful during their appearances. They also know the modern game as boxing, the science, the sport in general has moved on quite a bit behind the scenes. As has every sport.

Hagler: he must make a habit of it as he got bottled by a teenager (or two) in a restaurant in toon a year or two ago too! Makes u wonder if he gives it biggun on occassion.

I always liked Jon Thaxton when he was doing punditry for ITV.

I personally think McCrory is a good pundit, better than most in my opinion. As mentioned on this thread he paired up very well with Ian Darke.

He does a far better job than the likes of Nelson, Bunce, McGuigan, McKenzie and many others. Actually, to be fair, i do like McGuigan, he has the passion, but often works himself into into such a frenzy you're sure he's about to explode any second.

McCrory saying that Brook needs to aim for the Pacquiaos and Bradleys. Okay Glen....

McGuigan is excellent when he's not being biased.

Interesting, hes never bothered me. But that may be because i look past it due to the fact he does what so many brits dont in fighting best home and away. Rose tinted specs, maybe. Not a fury or a toney on the act like a cock-ometer thats for sure.
