This is our interpretation of the current British professional boxing rankings. We have only focused on the top 10 in each division, this way we feel it gives boxers an incentive to crack the top 10. - Fighters are ranked on achievements, activity and level of opposition.

The Super Mid + Middleweight British scene is great at the moment. Nice to see Martin Murray in 2nd, would love to see him get a crack at Macklin for the top ranking!

And the LW division. Outrageously stacked!

I note that Liam Walsh is quite rightly listed at number 7 in the British super feather division but is in the WBO top 15 at lightweight and is fighting for a world title in December! Anybody in the boxing media who attempts to legitimise this fight is a clown!

I don't think Cleverly should be above Khan in the P4P rankings.

Scott Harrison should not be the third highest ranked lightweight. I think Lynes should be ahead of Purdy at welterweight considering he beat him easily less than a year ago.

Flannigan is too high at super featherweight. Nicky Cook has been inactive for over a year.

If Proksa counts as British then why is he below Hope who he stopped a few months ago? Is Maccarinelli not ranked because of the drug suspension?

Thank you for the feed back guys, I will be reviewing the rankings again after this weekend. These are just my independent rankings and Im always trying to get them as accurate as i can. They came about because I always found it difficult to ever find updated rankings so thought we'd do our best. Your views are always welcomed and acted upon, im sure with your help here we can get these spot on. Thankyou.

Hi Chris, my lad Chris Keane fought a unbeaten big punching kid last night and knocked him out in round 1, he's unbeaten himself in 7 now in the Cruiserweight division, and fights another tough fight 24/11/12, he was nations & ABA heavyweight champion (being only the 2nd person in history to knockout all his opponents in aba's other than frank bruno) before he turned pro he very easily beat Wadi Camacho in amateurs plus many others, he's regarded highly by people in the game and is greatly avoided by other prospects in the division, we've agreed for him to fight Conquest twice & Simmons once, only for there teams to make one excuse or another and swerve Chris, this unfortunately has caused us some inactivity, he's ready and willing to fight anyone in the top ten at any given time and for us and people who have seen him, he is the most dangerous fighter in the division with bad intentions, very fast hands and very concussive power in either hand, I was wondering looking at the rankings if he should warrant making the 6th or 7th position in your rankings has Dunstan & Norton are both finished (retired or has good has) ? When were these done, a lot of fighters in the wrong divisions and retired fighters, not very up to date, don't make sense, sorry.

Hello mate - good effort.

Would just remind you that at Cruiserweight, Conquest is still rated below Williams despite beating him in one? Also, I think Dunstan announced his retirement earlier this year.

McCloskey is no longer the European champion.

Matty Askin should probably be lower in the cruiserweight rankings since he doesn't have any big wins.

Adil Anwar and Curtis Woodhouse need swapping around

They look better now.

Harrison really should be lower than 3rd at lightweight though. No way he should be above Mitchell and Murray who are both ranked in the top 10 in the world by Ring magazine.

No excuses or swerves needed, as I've never been offered Chris as a potential opponent for Tony.

welsh and cornish also speak gaelic and would be ethnic celts and there is a scottish area (one of 7 areas) BBBofC title, already?
i know who the britons (also celts) and anglo-saxons (germanic invaders) were historically but the modern differentiation
between england and britain and who is a celt isn't clear to an outsider.
is there a quick explanation?

I always thought it was just Alba,Wales and Northern Ireland but they must have changed it cause Stephen Ormond fought Appleby for the belt, so it must be a BBBOC belt which fighters from the Republic can fight from

commonwealth champ carl frampton is from belfast and held the celtic title and i know he fought robbie turley in wales for it. i'm trying to remember who, but there was a scottish fighter i thought who had it as well. basically the whole island of britain was celts before the romans and anglo-saxons and normans invaded, and glasgow even has Celtic f.c. in the premier league. the BBBofC should have a map on their site that shows what the 3 national titles and 7 area titles cover. i'm not even sure many boxing fans in the isles know exactly what they mean. i suppose 99% of boxing titles these days are a mystery to most fans, though.

barry mcguigan fought for the british title because his father was from ulster, so someone from the republic could theoretically fight for all 3 BBBofC "national" titles. i believe as an amateur he also competed for ireland in the olympics and ulster in the commonwealth games. matthew macklin fought for the BBBofC english and british "national" titles as well as the irish title because his father is from roscommon and mother from tipperary.
