Would Harrison make 9st 4 without issues? I'd pick Simpson, if Harrison's last fight was anything to go by he has very little left to offer.

The fight has been made in the LIGHTWEIGHT limit

I heard this last week.. I would want Simpson to win but at lightweight he will get dominated by Harrison.. Simpson is an average sized super feather. Harrison is huge has a granite chin and hits very hard.. I expect Simpson to win first few rounds and get stopped about the 7th

Based on his last fight, Harrison needs to bang a lot harder, he looked awful did you see it?

Yes I seen it the boy Eifdh was about a stone heavier. From what I have been told Scott thought he wasn't fighting. I agree a lot of questions to be answered and I believe he will answer the against Simpson.. Although I want Simpson to win

War Simpson!!! Hope he does it.
TBH from seeing Harrison live against the pre-pubescent Hungarian and on BN against Elfidh, I don't think his power has carried up to lightweight. I think Simpson should hold no fears (he wont) and should take this.
Hope I have some spare cash to go to this after I do the xmas shopping!

I dont think Simpson should go upto lightweight for this myself but Elfidh got ko'd by a former flyweight the fight before Harrison. If Harrison cant put him away I fancy simpson to use his featherweight speed and beat harrison quite handily.

Scott was actually 2pound heavier than Eifdh. He knew he was fighting, he refused to go on the scales on the night because he said he weighed in the night before but he had to weigh in again because it was a change of opponent. He would have been giving away a stone if he weighed what he did on the friday but he but that on overnight and out weighed Eifdh.
I think Harrison will be huge compared to Simpson but Johns will find a way round the size difference to Hopefully get the win.

I was led to believe Eifdh didn't weigh in and he was close to the 12 stone mark. I know Scott walks around about that and his condition for that fight was no where near as good as his first. I hope Simpson wins I really like him as a boxer. Just don't think he has the power to hurt Harrison and Harrison has always been a bully style fighter I feel he will do this and grind Simpson down.

Simpson's too fit, quick, aggressive and will out work Harrison I reckon. From what I've seen of Harrison so far (excuses aside) he'll be blowing out if his arse after 4 rounds of chasing shadows and getting picked off and will get stopped mid contest. I wouldn't be touching Simpson yet.

As posted before on another thread Simpson dominated Harrison when sparring and was very keen on the fight being made!

Off course I can see why Simpson is taking this fight, but I hope he doesn't do "a Crolla" and remain at Lightweight should he be successful.
Not so long ago Simpson was talking about fighting a Super Bantam.

I have a feeling that Simpson is going to be at least European champion, which I'd love to see, given his fantastic title fight experiences and dedication. I think he'll do a good job at lightweight, but hope he returns to super-featherweight. Pressure is on Harrison, he didn't look great last time and he's got issues. Harrison should be looking at gradual improvement over the next year IMO, 6-8 more fights, not trying to do too much too soon. Get some cash in the bank, mix it at European level late next year and then look for a big payday or 2. Simpson is a step too far.
For the training experts out there; Assuming Simpson moves up to lightweight to fight Harrison, what measures would you take to get Simpson's weight right before and after the fight? How much would you weigh him in at, and how much would you look to pile on over night? Baring in mind, Simpson should go back to super-featherweight.

Simpson seems always fit and has a great attitude to the sport, I can imagine him giving any lightweight or below hell; particularly in the gym. There's no denying though that Harrison has fought at a higher level and made the most of his talents, despite his problems. Sparring is sparring and it depends a lot on where the boxer is in fitness and also mentally; I've heard of people getting wasted in sparring and then doing really well in a bout. Harrison is a competitor and may feel he has something to prove, Simpson is a high class operator who'll give nothing away, it'll be a good bout.

Great fight will definetly be a fight of the year candiadate! Simpsons superior work rate should see him through. Also Simpson is a far better in fighter, Harrison likes to get mid range and let combo's go to body and head but I think Simpson could neutralise this by getting to close for Harrison messing up his range and getting him frustrated leading to him make more mistakes and dive in giving Simpson chances to land some great shots, but can't see him getting Harrison out there. Simpson UD

It's been a long time since Harrison has been involved in a proper fight whereas Simpsons been at or around the top domestically while Harrison's been in jail. You have to question his desire and his resolve, all the pish about being world champion again and fighting Burns has been just talk. Where's the discipline if he's still out bevying with a potentially very tough fight upcoming.

Totally agree boss. John is always boxing for some type of title over 10/12 rounds, so hes always prepared to do the 8 week training camps. Harrison is rumoured to be going to Spain for a traing camp on Friday which will leave him only 4 weeks training for his biggest toughest fight in years. i dont think his desire and comitment is there anymore. I think Harrison thought he was goni come out the nick and get a world title shot within 6 months!
I really hope Simpson wins this, I just hope Harrson isnt too big for him.
