heres something for you guys..
assuming boxing hadnt changed since the 60's and we had 1 champ at each of the 8 weights , who do you think would be boss in each division

Heavyweight - Vacant
Light Heavyweight - Roy Jones
Middleweight - Bernard Hopkins
Welterweight - Shane Mosley
Lightweight - floyd mayweather
Featherweight - erik morales
Bantamweight - Rafael Marquez
Flyweight - Jorge Arce


You could also factor in same day weigh ins......
The only people that would have a chance to keep there title if that was bought in would be Hopkins and RJJ if he hadnt started on the steriods!!!!

Top post. This will take some serious consideration. Bernard Hopkins and Jones are the only certainties; perhaps Mayweather, too.

I'd take Pacquiao to dethrone Morales at featherweight. Definitely.

Takaloo could probably have done welterweight so would be serious consideration....
couldnt imagine Hatton beating Sinclair or khaliq...

Not many shocks, I know. One belt would make for some great match ups...if only!

Cotto as undisputed welter champ is premature IMO. There's already an undisputed champ at the weight in Cory Spinks. That must count for something today.

Heavyweight - vacant untill Klitchko vs Sanders.
Light Heavy - Roy Jones.
Middle - Bernard Hopkins.
Welter - Shane Moseley (just)
Lightweight - Acelino Freitas (with Mayweather moving up)
Feather - Pacquiao.
Bantam - Marquez (a certanty for me).
Flyweight - Too sharp Johnson.

I'd take the power-punching Acre over Pacheco.

Okay the Mexican is a light-fly champ right now but he probably ought to be fighting at bantam.

fantastic list agree with all but one. At flyweight i'd have Irene Pacheco. Have seen Arce 3 or 4 times, his power is very impressive but he doesn't look as complete as Pacheco the guy who looked simply awesome knocking out Damien Kelly. I was so impressed, and the wins on his record are IMO superior to those on Arce's.

Putting Cotto there is dumb.

I'm a big Cotto fan and believer, but he still hasn't beaten any top 10 contender. Even Juan Valenzuela won't be good enough, he must beat Gatti, Harris or N'dou first.

Premature rather than dumb. I'm envisaging who would come out in the shake up if everyone had to go against each other. I really like Cotto - I try not to jump on bandwagons because they easily fall over but I'm firmly on Cotto's. Potential over practice at the minute though.

We'll see, Pac is flying from one superb performance against a Barerra who looked shot, time will tell how good Pac is but we may be going overboard on Manny, personally I think MAB made him look stunning.

If the fight were announced tomorrow my money would be on Morales finding a way to win.
