With Sky,B nation, Primetime and Channel 5 all aligned to specific promoters there seems to be no way that boxers connected to each promoter will fight against each other. It seems to be an impossible situation because I can t see any of the channels giving up the right to an individual fight. The Fury/Price situation is an example. I have always supported Sky but I think there decision to go with one promoter has caused the problem. They would probably argue that they had been let down so often that they had no choice, but why kick out Hatton and Maloney? The situation also excludes any small promoter advancing on their own no matter how good a prospect they may have under their wing. I would recommend to Itv and Bbc to come back into mix by showing small hall shows simply to provide boxing coverage for those interested in the sport, and not individual boxers. They could do this cheaply as well! It doesn't need to be about developing stars.

If this was a real danger then boxing in the UK would have gone under many years ago.

There was hardly a rush to match fighters from different promoters during the two year period when Hearn, Warren, Hatton and Maloney all had contracts so I don't see there being any change under the current regime. In fact, with Rees v Murray being made, it could be said that the opposite is true.

Personally I believe it will get to the stage where promoters won't be able to be as picky and their fighters will eventually have to fight each other.
