How would you rate Jack Gardner? Champ, contender, gatekeeper? Great, good, decent? Could he have gone further?

Jack Gardner
Record: 28 - 6 (23 KO's)
Height: 6' 1
Weight: 200 to 220 lbs.

He had 7 first round KO's and was never knocked out, only TKO'd due to cuts, and only knocked down once or twice during his career, great chin, great KO power.

Ring Magazine in 1950 rated him as No. 8 Contender for the Heavyweight Championship of the World.

Jack Gardner, the Heavyweight Champion of Great Britain, and Europe. I asked another fighter at the gym in the U. S., (he is English), if he had heard of Jack Gardner and John L. Gardner. He said Jack Gardner rings a bell.

How well known is Jack Gardner in England today?
Bruce Woodcock was popular in his day. Johnny Williams seems to have been popular.

Go eff yourselves.

If it bothers you, then don't read the post.
Since you don't have lives, then quit reading my posts.

Fat Git, eff yourself and lose some weight.

Coco, if you called me that to my face, you'd be laying on the ground bleeding and crying, but then again, I don't hit those who are mentally challenged that come up with ridiculous comebacks.

All I was asking, how well known or not so well known was the boxer I am writing an article about, it's called looking for information. It's a strange hobby. Kind of like you guys having a hobby of reading my posts.

If stuff like that bothers you, then maybe you guys have some deeper issues.

He is a good bloke where you have hardly covered yourself in glory here! You ask regularly about this fella, who knows what he was like but no one has ever been able to supply you with any info, when are you going to give up?

Thank you JLP, I greatly appreciate someone with common decency and an intelligent response.

I know I am persistant, but you don't have to read it, it's just there written, and it's not like I was trying to offend anyone. I was attacked. I attack back. What I had written was not offensive, it was simply a question.

I was just looking for other people's opinions because Jack is obviously not that famous, but I thought some old timers or history buffs would have an opinion, since he was fairly well known back in the day in England, being the champ and all.

Coco, I don't know "Fat Git", and I think it was him who was nice enough to send me something on Jack Gardner vs. Johnny Williams awhile back if I'm not mistaken, which I had ALREADY seen, yet did not tell him that and thanked him for like a polite human being does, but his response to me to:

"eff off" was completely offensive and if I was a "boring" square, or "fanny", or whatever strange slang you guys have, then I would have reported him, but instead I fought back instead of reporting you guys when I apparenlty wasn't talking to either "Coco" or "Fat Git", and especially with the ridiculous comments directed towards me.

"Fat Git" wanted the mods to do something, really? For a question? When he responded by "eff off" when the question wasn't specifically directed towards him? What about those guys who constantly ask about who Marciano could beat?

Go back and read the completely innocent question that I had written, and then read your responses to me. I didn't personally message you guys about old Jack, nagging you specifically for info, it's a board with several other people who log on and off on different days. "Coco" and "Fat Git", you guys attacked me, so I naturally attacked back.

People constantly post stuff about the same boxers time and again, the same names over and over, it's just the really famous ones. I get bored with it. I don't get upset about it.

I thought this was a place where you discuss all different boxers, regardless of name, and when somebody posts the same thing over and over, which they do, I don't get bent out of shape, or even read the message.

You and "Fat Git" have not covered yourselves in glory either.

I didn't personally message you guys. I didn't say, "Coco and Fat Git", give me some info. Send me some info on old Jack Gardner.

You attacked me for a simple question not directed at either you specifically, and sent me "abuse" worthy comments, so I defended myself.

Read my post, and then read your bizarre, offensive comments.

Course I helped you, I will help anyone with a query but when you keep repeating the same questions over and over again then it gets tiresome, in fact, they have a word for it on the world wide web and it is called - TROLLING! You are welcome.

Then don't read the posts, maybe it will help you lose weight if you were not constantly reading my posts and insulting me.

Why do you keep reading my posts "Fat Git"?

And uphill gardener is the dumbest comment I've ever heard, and I thought Americans had stupid slang.

You are a 40 year old boring loser who seems to like to read my posts.

'Fat Git', take your mother's high heel shoes off, and go be a productive human being.

Here is some advice, make this book interesting. Varify your subject instead of people who share your last name because, who the hell is going to care?

Wow you have way too much time on your hands.
Do you have a crush on me?
You're repressed homosexuality is really not healthy.
I do enjoy a good argument, but come on, you're wasting my time.

I've actually seen that video before, I'm not black and didn't make that video. I wish I was good enough to catch Strikeforce champ Nick Diaz in a triangle though! And Don't worry Fat Git, the book will be interesting.

And thank you for keeping the 'Jack Gardner' thread on for two straight weeks!

'Fat Git' you are first class DUMB A$$ and your name fits you perfect.

Thanks to one person, I got my answer though. Jack Gardner was a "big tough farmer" who was strong and powerful, but lacked technique like most British heavyweights. I wanted to see how people analyzed him, like they analyze all of the famous boxers from Dempsey to Tyson.

I tell you what, since you love reading what I write, I'll send you a free copy

Seriously, 'Fat Git', take off your mother's high heel shoes!
