Yes, the cartel featuring Duff, Lawless and Estair had an exclusive contract with the BBC, which puts Warren's deal with sky in the shade, they were British boxing. Things are far more competitive now....it's worth remembering that when slagging off sports network, that it replaced something far worserer than it wasserer.

I would like to know how good is former British boxing promoter Mickey Duff who managed John The Beast Mugabi in the early 80s? Also how tall was Duff in height? Was he impressive? Can anybody find and help me out.

I see where you're trying to go, but, if you think for even one second that the young Mick Hennessy is a patch on allegedly you're on drugs.

Warren will be the top promoter in Britain for as long as he wants.

I can't understand why Frankie boy is so paranoid. It's almost as if he knows he's number one, knows he's on to a good thing, and the slightest challenge - and I mean slightest - has to be stamped on immediately in case it spirals into a bigger challenge and jeapordises his position.
The term control freak springs to mind.
Still, at least you know where you stand with the guy. If you mess, he's going to hang you out to dry.

Bye the way, allegedly got his start in Boxing promoting ulicensed fights and handling ulicensed fighters such as the late Lenny McLean, before he got his BBBC License.

Apparently they were very popular shows, at least thats what I have read.

one thing about the duff/lawless fighters at least they used to regularly gets shots at the genuine big 3 world titles. frank warrens fighters haven't fought for one of the genuine big 3 in over 3 yrs.

they were good at using the sanctioning bodies to there advantage and securing mandatories something that warren isn't as good at except for the wbo title.

Yes he was an impressively tall 5 foot 4", including his swept back hair.

jack solomons was the main promoter before duff and lawless. he basically ran british boxing for years.
