So Manny Steward was a "hall of train famer", was he Johnny?

His cock ups when presenting Ringside are getting worse!

Are they that bad Terrrrrry that every one needs pointing out? There sees to be a bit of 'stick it to Johnny Nelson' on a few threads lately; it's becoming overt to someone as thick as me. Nelson weren't the best ever boxer and isn't the best every presenter; he got better at the boxing and will get better at the presenting. Love andpeace man 8)

I stopped watching it months ago. I realise I've missed some great guests etc but I just can't stand the Adam and Johnny show, it's obnoxious.

They must be able to get someone better to co-chair Ringside. Nelson is cringeworthy and struggles to string a sentence together most of the time!

Johnny did not look comfortable talking to Hamed on the phone link.

Does anyone even bother watching it any longer ? It really is a load of crap and the sooner the useless Adam Smith gets canned, the better.
They blather on about "great fights" - then show piss poor prize fighter and Kell Brook v another of Eddie's world title eliminator bums.

I don't watch it that often, but there was a very good piece on Manny Steward tonight. Well worth the watch.

Anybod else believe the format of the show would work better as an end of month round up, in a 90 minute slot?

A weekly boxing show is always going to dissapoint when 9/10's of its core audience spends 3 hours a night on a boxing forum.

Given a longer slot, with a months worth of news, we might see a bit more variety.

It aint just Johnny Nelson. People on this board don't seem to like any commentators or pundits or presenters. Bunce, McKenzie, Macintosh, Nelson, Watt, McGuigan, McCrory. The list goes on. We get it guys.

Do you think that people imagine that it's an easy job? As easy as typing views without any pressure?...

I reckon Steve Bunce and Ron Macintosh should rock up to danconnollyeire's place of work and give him an appraisal, film it and post it here.

I actually quite like Johnny Nelson, when he visits fighters and does those 'in the gym' type pieces especially :)

Take the point but I think you would have liked it tonight, MW. Manny Steward special tribute. Great obit from Bob Mee, Darkey in the studio reminding us all how missed he is, good bits on the phone from Big Len and almost as big Naz.

Yes - not helped by Sky's stupid boxing policy of Matchroom only.

Prizefighter, Froch, Brook and a Khan comeback what more can they talk about.

A weekly boxing show would be fine, if Sky would show boxing once a week - but they don't now.

It aint necessarily the producers fault, they are being restricted to what they can discuss. The problem does rest at Sky's head of boxing though.

Amazing to think when he first took on the job people thought Adam Smith was doing a fab job with quality control.

You didn't mention Rawlings, the P4P worst commentator ever!

That's just not true, Stu. They talk about fights that aren't on Sky. They showed pics from tonight's weigh in complete with a rival broadcaster's logo and channel number all over the background plus interviews with Witter and Gavin. They do it most weeks.

You have to bear in mind that they're giving oxygen to a bloke who walked away from them to set up his own channel.

Yeah, I do wonder if there is some sort of deal between Sky and allegedly cause they will show highlights of allegedly non-British cards with a "pictures from allegedly" - so do Sky Sports News.

Running specials mid season because they have already done Froch/Bellew/Brook to death? Cant they have Kell and Tony in the studio analysing Carl's opinion of them?

i like johnny nelson. he's not perfect, but hes better than most sporting pundits who drone on with the usual banal shite. and hes not become a caricature like the buffoon bunce who performs his act on autopilot and is as sincere as boris johnson. i think that with time he will get better too.

MacIntosh seems like a nice bloke... just super annoying and not made for TV! I don't mind Nelson. When I've critised him is because he was a terribly boring fighter! Bunce is a pudendum and everyone knows it. The sooner someone kidnapps the old git the better. He only interviews upandcomers because noone likes him. I think BBC and allegedly are blind to the outside world. I've not met too many fans of boxing, forums, people on Twitter that like Bunce nowadays. Froch, Fury, Haye and other refuse to give him the time of day. And he needs a punch in his fat old face!

I must be in the minority but I still like ringside and watch it every week. It could be improved no doubt but on the whole I think its still worth spending an hour or so watching.

Thought the Emanuel Steward parts of the programme last night were brilliant to be honest, plus I always enjoy the news round up section with Ed. I also like that for once a Sky programme can talk about things they are not showing ie the Channel 5/allegedly/Primetime fights.

One thing about last night though I personally could have done with subtitles for Craig McEwan :D
