Re: Godding Vs Jakiewicz

Ill go with Godding dropping a close points decision , Jackiewski has been in good company and only Kell Brook has ever stopped him , He took the unbeaten record of Jan Zaveck too .
I was really pissed off with that stoppage, mainly because screwed my bet up, seemed like a classic case of a ref stopping a fight because it had become embarrassingly boring to watch. Jackiewicz had done fornicate all but he had also never looked in the slightest bit hurt or in trouble.Livingstone Cole wrote:That Kell stoppage was almost as bad as last nights, too.Looking On wrote:Ill go with Godding dropping a close points decision , Jackiewski has been in good company and only Kell Brook has ever stopped him , He took the unbeaten record of Jan Zaveck too .
That was a poor stoppage. Granted jackiewicz was never going to win the fight but like you say never hurt at all and he would have made the final bell no doubt.J-C wrote:I was really pissed off with that stoppage, mainly because screwed my bet up, seemed like a classic case of a ref stopping a fight because it had become embarrassingly boring to watch. Jakiewicz had majority draw with Godding, must have been very close, this was a step up for Godding and it looks like he did himself proud, I know Jakiewicz is on the way down, but he has mixed in great company, so well done to Godding.Livingstone Cole wrote:ESPN Starts at 10:00, this is on Russian TV.Dan Dares wrote:what channel's this on?
Thats bad news if that is the case, maybe british fighters should not go over to some of these european countries, if they have to knock them out to win, where can I watch the fight ? The same was said in the Della Rosa fight with Nasser Al Harbi in Italy for the WBC International title, many had Al Harbi winning easily, I watched it and felt he won most of the rounds and had him at least 4 or 5 rounds up, Max Maxwell was supposed to have been robbed recently against Kadour in Denmark, did not see it though, but it was close on the cards, I hope Godding gets a rematch, shame, a win would have opened doors for him, having not been given opportunities in the past, I hope he takes positives from this fight and it makes him a better fighter.stevegoodwin wrote:A mate of mine whos over there agreed totally with the ESPN crew. No it wasn't. Jackiewicz might not have been on his heels but he'd started to ship big punches and had done absolutely nothing for prolonged periods.Livingstone Cole wrote:That Kell stoppage was almost as bad as last nights, too.Looking On wrote:Ill go with Godding dropping a close points decision , Jackiewski has been in good company and only Kell Brook has ever stopped him , He took the unbeaten record of Jan Zaveck too .
Can you post your scorecard and note the rounds that Al Harbi won beyond dispute? I thought the decision was fair.Peter Parker wrote:Thats bad news if that is the case, maybe british fighters should not go over to some of these european countries, if they have to knock them out to win, where can I watch the fight ? The scoring wasnt so much the dispute altho we thought we nicked it.The fact that they changed it from ten rounds to 8 rounds ten minutes before the bout (Khaddour is known for blowing Maxwell known for finishing strong) Khadoour was very very tired at the end of 7 and basically spoilt thru last round. The German Agent said sorry on the phone for this happining and that he felt max was very hard done by with the trick.crusader wrote:Can you post your scorecard and note the rounds that Al Harbi won beyond dispute? I haven't seen Maxwell-Kaddour either, but the result seems fair based on the BoxRec News account of the fight.

Crusader, I don't even think you have watched the fight in Italy to be honest, because if you had you see, that Al Harbi won at least 5 of the first 6 rounds at least, the middle round were closer, due to Al Harbi standing and trading, after realising he was getting robbed on the score cards, then Al harbi finished strong and took at least 3 of the last 4 rounds, instead of hating the the lad, like a lot do on this forum, open your eyes to what was an excellent performance by a british fighter abroad against all the odds, I am sure people will come on here after the event with regards to the Godding result to say how it was a good result, these people think they know it all, but know nothing. Give credit to the british fighters who take on a challenge against all the odds. Read boxing fans report he had 8 rounds to Al Harbi, Boxing news had it to Al Harbi and all the people who posted on the fight whilst watching it live had Al Harbi being robbed.crusader wrote:Can you post your scorecard and note the rounds that Al Harbi won beyond dispute? Think the article a bit over negative. He was never in 'survival' mode or gave that impression and I don't think a half a round of pressure from a fighter who lets be honest was behind in the fight would constitute unravelling. What did you score it out of interest?Ben Carey wrote:Blimey, there's an absence of objectivity on this thread. As I thought no explanation, I guess I was the only one, out of the two of us who gave a reason for my scoring of the fight, not everyone agrees with someone else all the time, but a person should have a reason for his opinion and put his case forward, all the best in your crusade.crusader wrote:I disagree with several of your statements 'Peter,' and would respond accordingly if I felt that decorom or intelligent debate, or both would follow.
