I agree with the first bit, but not the second.

This is a tough, tough fight for any middleweight.

I wouldn't be hi-fiving Hatton though. When he was boxing, FW got him a fight with perfect timing when Tzu was passed his best, and got him home advantage.

Murray gets a shot at one of the best and toughest boxers in the world, and he has to go to Argentina.

Yeah but Warren had to pay Tszyu his highest ever purse to get the fight- he could do it as he had Hatton and Showtime/box office bankrolled it.

I'm guessing Martinez wants a stay busy fight before having to face Chavez again - it's a no lose situation for MM a shot at the Middleweight championship doesn't come around to often if at all.

It seems strange for Murray to fight Martinez if he has a WBA interim title fight coming up soon. Surely he would face the WBA champion.

golovkin - that's a nasty fight for less recognition. don't know about the money though.

I'm in Argentina for the year and therefore very excited about this. They're talking 50,000-capacity venues so it'll probably be River Plate's Estadio Monumental. The atmosphere against an Englishman would be electric.

i think it might work in murrays advantage martinez is around 38 and recovering from injury so we dont know how hes gona look murrays younger and the bigger man. also martinez hasnt boxed in argentina for a long time all the pressure will be on him, like the sturm fight murray has nothing to lose. potential upset on the cards i feel, as much as i love watching martinez box i think he would look past murray too much.

This pretty much sums it up. He can't fight in the US, the only World Champion not fighting regularly in the US is Geale, who is fighting Mundine soon and I don't think it will be long before Geale goes to the US, if hopefully he beats Mundine.

Murray is in a sticky situation and you have to feel sorry for him.

Murrays style matches up well with Martinez in my opinion. The patience he fights with and combination punching would give him a real chance I think. Call me crazy..

But in argentina he is not going to win.

it'll be a good fight. martinez has beaten british fighters in britain, interestingly...

Martin Murray has big balls to fight Martinez in Argentina.

That's two huge hurdles to overcome and he'd need two huge balls to try it.

Maximum respect to Martin if he grabs the fight. I guess the Argies would be hostile as hell too.
