Enzo Macc will get a rematch, won't he?

I am sure we have heard the word "rematch" after an official's mistake before with Enzo.
I thought the CBC did order a rematch between Cox and Sai? I know it never happened, mind...nh1 wrote:Remember the Jamie Cox-Obodai Sai Commonwealth title fight when Cox should have been disqualified?
What happened there? There were lots of letters of outrage sent to the Commonwealth Council...
As far as I'm aware, Sai wasn't offered a rematch and should have been...
In this case I'm sure it will happen... (The power of promoters, etc.)
But I would love to hear the Commonwealth Council's explanation if Enzo gets the rematch when Sai didn't...
I do sympathise with IJL a little bit hoever the board passed Enzo fit to fight, the stoppage was a disgrace. Enzo was actually very impressive, Lockett has seemingly got him playing to a plan.Manchester Hitman wrote:Enzo needs to retire otherwise his brains will be scrambled eggs soon...the shell has already been cracked.
Mckenzie by KO which is what IJL saved Enzo from in the first fightDD he's a shit ref generally but I can totally understand why he got a bit scared when Enzo took a few shots as we all know his chin is softer then a wet tissue and so jumped in prematurely.

Orvile and Enzo can kick his ass!
How was Enzo impressive? he looked panicked everytime Orvil landed even a half punch on him, after watching the fight again I am sure that the premature stoppage only delayed the inevitable. Anyone who thinks Enzo would have come on stronger as the fight went on hasnt watched many of his fights, especially his recent ones... enzo has never actually been known for his stamina or outlasting tough opponents. Imo Orvil would have just worn down Enzo and got a ko win/stoppage round about the 5th-7th rounds... IJL did Enzo a favour.tawetrent wrote:I do sympathise with IJL a little bit hoever the board passed Enzo fit to fight, the stoppage was a disgrace. You make a very valid point but it's not just this fight. He makes so many errors (Hopkins CLEARLY floored Pascal TWICE, repeatedly poor scoring etc)joelouis1234 wrote:IMO Ian John Lewis was only trying to protect Enzo by jumping in after he had taken a couple of heavy unanswered shots.Since the tragic Micheal Watson incident the bbbofc have done a sterling job in improving the safety of the sport by introducing a raft of measures which has also seen their officials waving off fights a lot earlier than previously if boxers do not respond to heavy combinations often whilst being backed up against the ropes. Is that a bad thing? Any knowledgable intelligent person in boxing knows that Enzo has suffered a string of devastating KO losses in his career of late and many including myself would question is it actually wise for him to continue in the sport on the evidence of his current form? Yes he has passed all the medicals and is approved to carry on but the succession of heavy KO losses he has endured tell a different story.Yes,there is also an argument that IJL did wave off the fight early but were that fight to have continued and resulted in an even worse stoppage wouldn't the same people critisizing IJL for waving it off too early be critsizing him for waving it off too late?I think IJL was in a precarious predicament knowing Enzo's recent history of KO losses and basically erred on the side of caution.Instead of calling for his head we should be applauding referees like IJL who are doing a professional job by trying to maintain the health and safety of boxers who are often too proud and brave to give in of their own accord.
If the board passed Enzo fit to box then the referee shouldn't judge on anything other than events that are happening in the ring. IJL evidently played the role of judge & jury in regards to Enzo's health, that wasn't his responsibility.joelouis1234 wrote:IMO Ian John Lewis was only trying to protect Enzo by jumping in after he had taken a couple of heavy unanswered shots.Since the tragic Micheal Watson incident the bbbofc have done a sterling job in improving the safety of the sport by introducing a raft of measures which has also seen their officials waving off fights a lot earlier than previously if boxers do not respond to heavy combinations often whilst being backed up against the ropes. Is that a bad thing? Enzo failed his post fight test sample. It was an issue behind closed doors well before July, it only came out in the public domain once UK Anti-Doping had finished their investigation and subsequently the board's decision in regards to a punishment, which evidently concluded in July.deadpan wrote:Enzo-McPhilbin was in March.
