This is a worry for boxing, could happen to more promoters, without promoters, no boxing.

Maloney is old school. I don't agree with his performance last week on ESPN, a little too controversial for my taste. Maloney however has been involved in some massive fights, including many of my favourites growing up, you know the fights you watched with your Dad and Grandad and won't ever forget.

It's bad news for British boxing. As ta596 suggested, no promoters no boxing.

what will happen to david price? wont go to warren as hes sponsered by the sun i dont think he would go to hatton or hennessy so it would be either hearn goldenboy or toprank i think with goldenboy probably being the favorite

Frank Maloney has now only got 1 champion in David price, he is no longer attached to Brian rose or Jamie mcdonnell

Did Frank not say recently that after David Price career is over, Frank will stop promoting fighters??

when 1 company is insolvent - sports network a new one is made - FW promotions
neither company had/has personal money tied up in it

Your reading to much into this - FTM sports was closed down when his contract finished with SKY.

New Company Frank Maloney Promotions opened for new deal with allegedly .

It's ridiculous how promoters can get away without paying fighters their money.

Fast Eddie probably isn't the saviour of boxing, but at least the lads get paid, and he doesn't prevent them from taking big, lucrative fights the way that Allegedly does, or goes to ridiculous lengths to keep fighters apart like Mismatch has always done.

The Board really need to find a way to do something about this, if they possibly can.

The Board will do all they can if they are told about non payment. It's all well and good with the rumours and insinuations, but unless someone (a boxer) reports a promoter for an infringement of their contractual terms, there is nothing the Board can do under the terms of the existing licensing agreements.

There needs to be a test case with one boxer sticking his head above the parapet and preparing to take on a non-paying promoter through the formal route. If this were to happen, and the issue is as prevalent as some are suggesting, then its likely a lot more would come out of the woodwork.

The board could easily sort this out - why not bring in a regulation that all promoters have to confirm in writing to the board within 28 days of a promotion that all boxers have been paid their purses as per their contract.

Is it simple though? Surely if the Board wish to introduce a new regulation affecting all licensed fighters and promoters it will need to be voted in by the council. And then it will need to be applied to new licences rather than carte-blanche applied to existing licence holders. I very much doubt the Board can change the terms of a licence held by an existing licence holder on an ad-hoc basis.
