Proper test for Groves this one. It's only 18 months ago that Johnson dropped a MD to Froch. Watch the 8th round of that one back - he puts Froch under some serious pressure:

I think people are probably asking because its Warren promoting and secondly when the fight was announced I think on the same day Johnson gave a few interviews saying nothing has been signed yet or something along those lines.

Not sure how much Johnson has left, haven't seen him since the Bute fight. Rumour has it he's looked a bit shot in his last fight or two. If he has anything left he'll be a great opponent for GG, a potential banana skin.

Johnson will be allowed to fight over here past the age of 40 due to the fact he's challenging Groves for his Commonwealth title, I think.

Johnson went the distance against Froch and Bute in 2011, apparently looked tired against Fonfara earlier this year but even then he's better than anyone Groves has fought up to now and is a decent step up in opposition imo.

A completely different situation. You're comparing Johnson, who still has something to give, with Botha who is pretty much a spent force.

In my opinion, Johnson will gove Groves a good fight, it wont be as one sided as you think.

oh wait..there is another show on the week before and i think i might have one for that instead. plus there is the ppv for manny v jmm IV and its coming up to christmas and oh my gosh....

i might just have to give it a miss i guess. remind me...its the mysteriously injury prone kid against the old fella with more defeats on his record than the other kid's had fights and the world champion against TBA (sounds familiar) after domestic level challenger had to pull out through injury hmm....nope. I'll pass.

to be honest i think Johnson is the type of boxer that won't actually retire until he gets KO'd or a bad beating. In his last fight he was just to slow for the young guy, and after a rest he suddenly thinks 'yes i can do it again'.
If he actually gets KO'd i think that would make up his mind to retire for good.

Not quite sure what you're response was meant to mean. Anyway, I don't have a ticket for Johnson v Groves, all I'm saying is that it will be fairly competitive in my opinion.

In future, you might want to keep away from the home made cider before posting.

Yeah I heard that, he is really looking forward to fighting Groves. His sparring partner has got Burns so it's a happy camp at their TBA gym.
