The Andrew Flintoff 3 parter starts tomorrow night on Sky 1.

Should be a good follow documentary.

The title of 'Lord to the Ring' is just as cringeworthy as the program itself will be.

If you had to bet everything you own on the Flintoff fight. What would you bet?

My bad, all I know is the McGuigan claims he 'dominates top class heavyweights'! Just wondering if anyone here knows or knows of the chap.

This is quite surreal, didn't think I'd bother watching it.

I wouldn't, its pure guess work. You'd be better off sticking your money on the lottery.

If it was a choice between betting everything I owned or losing my left knacker on this fight i'd have my nut chopped off.

I don't understand why SKY went to the trouble of filming a documentary on it and then allowing allegedly to get the rights to the fight. SKY haven't been in the habit of pushing fights not shown on SKY Sports.

Because, as you can see from the reaction from a couple of gullible sorts in this topic (e.g. Kingfinn), you can entertain the masses and make anybody look reasonably decent with hundreds of hours of material to edit and cobble together into an show. You can't do the same with an unedited boxing match. The Sky show will look glossy, polished and show Flintoff in his best light as a boxer. The actual fight will be naff, like almost all fights involving genuine first timers.

Pretty much what I expected - a big clumsy bastard who can punch a bit. Nice to see that he's taking it seriously and taking his lumps in sparring.

I don't think they were as hard as Barry and his lad were trying to make out, and he looked very clumsy in my opinion.

I wonder how many tickets they will sell for this. I got a text from Orange offering 2 4 1 on them so I'm guessing it's not doing great.

I enjoyed last nights show. It reconfirmed my thoughts on what a good bloke Freddie is. He's definitely under no illusions of how tough it's gonna be, he must be feckin mental. He's totally thrown himself into a boxers life.

Don't see how this can be construed as mocking or underminig the sport, in my opinion it just reiterates what a tough sport it is............. unless Freddie saunters his way to a recognised title (not gonna happen)

I agree 100%, he is doing this to prove to him self. Not for the money or to stay in the lime light. I just wish they didn't have him fighting at the MEN. Should be somwhere small like Robin Park in Wigan.

i think as long as they match him the same as they would match a simerlar level debutant then its fine with me ie they dont pay some turnip to fall over

similar matchmaking to say Kahut or that ex copper from preston (used to post here)... got on there debut

howard daley he's retired now and he was a cruiser at best. he had some experience behind him and i would put it past daley to have won.

also would be a preston derby

How on earth have you reached the conclusion that staying in the limelight and money are not driving forces behind this venture when the whole thing is built around a reality television show?

im not saying match flintoff with them... but match him equally to how they were matched...

Daley had a few unlicensed fights but its a bad standard

Because he gets offered loads of TV and Limelight chances. If it was about the money. There is easyer ways for him to make a killing than boxing.

Yeah it makes great TV but if your going to go for it anyway, you might as well take the TV deal your fame brings.
