"OK... HERE'S THE LATEST: RE- The WBF World Title fight: Oisin Fagan V Chris Goodwin. I got an email from Fight Options (Goodwin's promoter) saying that the fight is OFF because I was hounding them for a contract. WTF? I've been in this business of pro-boxing long enough that I don't take promoters at their word... and obviously, RIGHTLY SO, on this occasion ! He tells me that the fight is off because he was pissed off getting FB messages and twitter messages from me, asking for a contract, haha. EXCUSSSSSSE MEEE, haha... Should that not have been the very first thing a promoter should send to a fighter? Instead, he had me thinking that the fight was on and while I was trying to focus on the task at hand... he pulls this crap ! Unfortunately, poor Chris Goodwin's sister, was in a bad accident last week and is in hospital, so please say prayers for her. I hope she makes a very speedy recovery, God bless her... However, this is now the excuse that 'Fight Options' is using to call our fight off now, even though he mentioned in the email that Chris was willing to go ahead with it. IF I WANT THE FIGHT... AND IF MY OPPONENT WANTS THE FIGHT... THEN WHAT'S THE PROBLEM? DO YOUR JOB 'FIGHT OPTIONS', and GET THIS FIGHT ON, LIKE YOU PROMISED !!! The only other thing I can think of is that he's looking for a much easier option. He emailed me last week, asking if I would have a "problem making the weight?" I replied "NO !" and then I heard he was on the net looking for information on how I've been looking. Obviously he heard that I was in great shape and raring to go; while, they were relying on me being out of shape... Tut, tut lad- you should have done your homework !!! Am I hitting a nerve here Fight Options? Me thinks so... :-p (By the way, I still have all his emails, so I can prove all of this, if he comes back with some bullsh@t"). Hopefully we can salvage this fight but I'm not holding my breath. Anyways, unless I get an OFFICIAL CONTRACT this time and not only YOUR WORD, I won't fall for your bullsh@t again !!!"

We have already made it clear why this fight has been called off as per the press release already posted on boxrec, this coupled with serious concerns regarding Mr Fagans constant contact with other parties involved in the fight have made it impossible to stage in its current form.

Chris still wants the fight and is staying in training over the holiday period as he always does but these decisions are not made by the boxer, but by his team as a whole and we feel this is the best decision.

We wish him the best of luck and are looking to get it on at the start of the year.

What's with Fagan? Too many people air their dirty linen in public for my liking.

Sounds like Fight Options don't have the balls to put the fight on. A word is nothing in boxing - if you agreed to the fight you should be sending him the contract.

A verbal contract isn't worth the paper it's written on.

No story here. Chris and Oisin are in contact on Twitter( @gunnergoodwin1 ) and are on excellent terms. The Facebook status was made when Fagan had gone balistic the fight was off. I could easily pass on the friendly messages posted since, where we talk about doing it in the new year, but that would be unproffesional..

For any poster to say that Fight Options don't have the balls to put the fight on is possibly the most offensive thing I have read on here. It is implying, no, forgive me, directly saying, that we are using Chris' sister being in a critical condition in hospital as an excuse to pull out of a fight with Oisin Fagan.

The man asked me for something on friday which i told him wouldnt be possible until the start of the week as i was in London for the BBBofC awards dinner, that should have been the end of it, the answer was given but he started contacting matchmakers, promoters etc asking for the same thing and then all this facebook and twitter nonsense, the answer wasnt going to change.

He talked himself out of a good fight, that coupled with Goodwins sister being ill was enough for us to take the decision we did.
