Measuring greatness. I'm sure I'm in the minority but does anyone think Camachos career was better than Pryors.

I'll echo what Counter-Puncher has said.
Camacho's resume is superior, but Pryor was more exciting to watch.
Camacho became really safety conscious post the Edwin Rosario fight & less interesting to watch.
PS: What is the asterisk for?

Pre Rosario I thought Camacho was exciting.
The asterisk was because I had to explain myself before someone jumped with a H2H explanation.
Funny how Camacho faced and beat better opposition but people are questioning him being a hall of famer while Pryor is looked at as a shoe in.

Cervantes (even that version) was better than Ramirez, Camacho's best win. I'd take Arguello (that version) over Rosario, whom Hector squeaked by.
I don't think much of Camacho's 140 comp. I won't even get into Duran and Leonard as opponents.

to me, very subjectively, a prime aaron pryor seems next
to invincible. his determination was very powerful ... the just
invented force was strong in this one. whereas my perception
of hector is: yeah, great name, long career, many wins, some
big, but against the biggest names he lost or won once they
were shot ... and kayoing the old sugar was like killing bambi.
so there is higher factual achievement on the side of camacho
but it's outweighed by the emotional achievement of pryor, the
ducked and crazy-lazy hero. another way to explain it could be
"good worker" vs "genius". aaron to me had that brilliance-
thing around him. not as a boxer, as a fighter.

Giving Camacho credit for Duran and Leonard is like highlighting Ali on Holmes's resume--or more accurately, Berbick's.

To be fair, Camacho was also well past his prime for the Duran and Leonard fights. It's not really an analogue for Holmes/Ali, whereas Norris/Leonard really is.

Never seen Leonard-Norris, Leonard-Camacho or Camacho-Duran…never will…but I’ve heard some say Duran should have got the decision against Camacho. Any truth in it?

Pryor's two wins over Argeullo were bigger than Camacho's biggest wins. Cervantes was past his best but it was still very impressive win for Pryor and that is up there with any of Camacho's wins. However, after that Camacho has the advantage. He beat a lot more good to very good fighters than Pryor did.
However, you also have to factor in losses too. Pryor probably had a slightly the better overall career.

I think Duran won their first fight. As for the question, I originally thought it was a mythical match up in which case Pryor would overwhelm him. Accomplishment wise is pretty close. I'd side with Aaron due to his wins over Arguello, but I could see siding with Hector. Pryor's career is overrated.

You count Arguello for pryor? I thought you tossed aside fights that involve foul play?

They never took a drug test; we'll never know what was in that bottle. That result wasn't reversed. The commission should've done drug testing. It didn't.

There was asthma medication in the bottle.

We can't know what was in it because (correct me if I'm wrong) it was never tested.

You can't, I'm willing to go with a fighter who drank out of those bottles before and had nothing to gain by revealing the contents.

Definite truth and I'd advise watching it. That was a good fight and the last time Duran was ever in shape.

Pryor had the use of a way blue-er bottle than Camacho ever had.
