Just watching Hatton v Maussa and I saw the young disabled lad that Hatton used to have come to the ring with him. I know he could never fly so that stopped when Hatton was going to the States.

But does anyone know what happened to him, is he well?

i dont remember the child at all which is why i was asking. i dont think there are many afflictions that can stop you flying

He's still around, Hatton had some pictures up on his twitter the other day. I think he might be doing the ringwalk again tonight.

never watched most of hattons early fights - no sky and i always just watche dthe replays of most his fights anyway. just intrigued me why he couldnt fly

Yeah I believe he's in his 20's now, not seen anything of him since 2009 though.

In answer to the OP I hear Paul Speak is still with the Hattons and doing well

That young lad was really ill and had a horrible time of it; he really looked up to Hatton and was thrilled to be a part of the show; it was a nice thing to do by Hatton. I don't think that any of us would be cracking jokes if it were our son afflicted and limited like that.

I recall Hatton mentioning in his book that the lads mum died not long after he met him as well, had a terrible life but obviously being around Ricky gave him a sense of purpose and feeling part of something special.

It's easy to be cynical about people and their motives; when someone becomes rich and famous they go up their own bums a bit but Hatton always seemed a pretty good egg; that lad looked thrilled to be in the ring and hold the belts up; fair play to Ricky for that.

James will be doing the ring walk tonight and is thrilled about it.

He's had a lot of ops, but is still fighting on.

I agree.

I have critisised Hatton for his speaking in the third person and all that, but he seemed really genuine towards the lad - fair play to him, it was a really nice thing to do for somebody.
