Yes, best presenter in boxing. I really like Ian Darke as well, despite what some on here think

The commentary was poor.

It just seemed lacklustre and there was no second man either.

He was vile.

If he spoke to me like that I'd give him a slap.

Darke shot his load during the Quigg bout and never managed to get re-erect.

Thought he was shit in the studio but handled Hatton compasionately in the post fight interview.

I don't much like Dempsey, but I thought he did an excellent job with the final interview. He showed great sensitivity and got the pitch just right. Poor Ricky.

I was watching Al Jazeera's coverage. Carl Froch was a pundit and spoke extremely well after the fight.

He said he was sad to see Ricky so upset, but he had serious mental problems that wouldn't be solved in the ring. He said Ricky needs to stop focussing on the two defeats and start looking at an amazing career. He said he's been a multi-weight, multi time world champion, one of the most popular British boxers ever, and that he's done as much as anyone in the last few decades for boxing. He's now a multi-millionaire. So he has so much to be happy about. If he gets professional help, he can have a great life, but the ring's not the place for that. He's disciplined himself to make the weight and get fit, which shows he has the character, and he doesn't need to fight to prove that.

(I'm paraphrasing, but that was the essence.)

Also have to agree Dempsey had to get the interview on the spot and he handled it really well in heartbreaking circumstances.

I thought the whole show from start to finish on Primetime was excellent. Malinaggi blew me away with how good he was, Rhodes was very comfortable in his role too and Darkie and Woodhall an excellent tandem as always.
Sky should do everything in their power to get Dempsey back, he brings a knowledge and and class to the role that is streets ahead of Dart Boy and cheeky chappy Buncey.

Just give him a normal interview and don't patronise him.

I must admit I wasn't too keen on Dempsey's interview at the end. But fair play, I'm in the minority.

Horse, Hatton was on the verge of tears. What was he meant to do? Pile in with, "You've just been put over by a body shot from a non-puncher. You're finished now, aren't you?"

A "normal" interview in that situation was impossible. Hatton had been bawling in the ring a minute earlier. He's just come back from serious depression, alcohol and drug problems. He was pinning everything on this, and it'd just been taken away from him. He was fighting back the tears. Giving him a proper grilling was completely unnecessary.

Further, I got the impression that Dempsey felt genuinely sorry for him, and didn't want to see Hatton embarrass himself.

I wasn't watching, just listening. So, I can't comment on their relative head positions, but I didn't hear a pep talk, and repeat that a normal interview would have been impossible. Just what questions could have asked that he didn't?

If you think of the answers he got, he did everything he needed to coax the money quotes out of a mentally disintegrating man without being cruel.

Great interview and much better than what you'd expect of most others in that role. Wasn't a fan of the commentary, though I generally like both Woodhall and Darke.

I thought Dempsey was poor in the interview. No need to stick his face right up to Rickys and ask poorly worded questions. After fight talk, he should have been telling him he isn't a failure and saying how many people were proud of him and put more emphasis on the comeback from personal demons being a victory in itself.
