Robert Guerrero I love you

For out-manning that cheating son of a bitch, rubbing his face in it & beating the shit out of him...
Man, this was like a victory for boxing over athletes who have been taught to punch. Chemically-aided athletes.
(For the record, Guerrero's jump in weight leaves Pac-Man looking like he naturally grew to welterweight. But as he's not been caught yet, I refuse to call him a cheat. I will not dispute the possibility of him cheating, I'll even talk shit about the likelihood of it, but he ain't been caught yet. Rest assured I shall give him shit if/when he does...)
PS: If anyone hit me in the back of the head like that, fought with their elbow poised to smash in to my cheek on the inside & was also cheating steroid-abusing piece of shit who gets away with things because he's a big promoter's boy, I would've done things to Berto that would've made those of you who somehow felt sorry for Andre cry.
I thought Guerrero was admirably restrained, meself.

He seems an extremely likeable bloke, genuine too. I tend to switch off when the G word comes up but he's been through a lot of stuff so I guess he's entitled to it.

Aye, totally does bruv.
I too have a distaste for anyone who brings their invisible friend to combat (what, he/she/it's not on the other fella's side? Hahahaha). But I don't care what he says. I just want to have his man-babies, if such a thing were anatomically possible. Or failing that, watch the little fella in the flesh.
He made a fan there, don't know if you can tell.

Pretty awful fight I thought save for a few moments of genuine drama. Poor refereeing.
Often in a match up like this something has to give, in this case it was the spectacle that was sacrificed.

A dirty fight by both fighters and Guerrero was more guilty of it IMO but Berto looked like 'something' was missing from his game from the start.

Agree there. I enjoyed watching him beat on Berto early on last night. Towards the end I was getting a bit worried for Guerrero, he was giving Berto that uppercut for three or four rounds, cracking chin on Guerrero though. But why thank god? You did it.
I was screaming my head off whilst watching going "FFS, if you have to stand there put your fvcking chin on his shoulderblade! CHRIST MAN!" about eleven thousand times a round.
I thoroughly enjoyed it, but like you said it would've been nice to see Guerrero do anything other than eat right hands/uppercuts.

Where next for Guerrero? Funny division welterweight, not nearly enough actually happens when you look at the names in the division.
I could definitely see Mayweather getting him to jump up another division but I'd love to see him in with Bradley - that would be great fun, proper dirty stuff!

Thank you for your response.
I say again: he's fighting a steroid cheat, & promoter's boy, who hasn't even served a ban for same. WTF should he do? Box entirely within the rules & hope the scum-sucking SOB isn't full of chemicals/isn't going to get dodgy breaks off the officials?
& yes, I fvcking hate that "professional foul" wannabe-Floyd stick-your-elbow-in-a-fella's face & call-it-old-skool bollocks on the inside. "Get your bloody elbow tucked in & stop waving it around "accidentally" or I'll hit you in the nuts" seems to be a reasonable response to myself, but it's probably just my temperament.

Oh don't get me wrong I'm not a Berto fan but Guerrero was awful, the first knockdown came from a foul, Berto's eye looked like he'd been thumbed as well. It may well be a case of "lowering yourself to their level" but 4 punches, clearly after the final bell-clearly after the fight had been won, were completely unjustified and indefensible.

I respect your opinion & appreciate your viewpoint, but I have to reiterate that my feelings toward Berto are such that if Guerrero, say, drove over Berto in a Leopard II Main Battle Tank & then reversed back over him, cackling "Just levelling the playing field Andre!" out the commander's hatch, only then would I be tempted to feel that he was being a touch naughty.
Sorry.

This seems like a sensible opinion--though I'd draw the line at Guerrero actually killing him. Maybe just kneecapping him.
Or like I said above, running him over & then backing up over him in a Leopard II tank. That'd be fine.

Vaudeville Villain wrote:I don’t get the U.S. commentators. They’re usually hard bitten hacks, but they go all soft and gooey when it comes to covering cheats. How many times did we hear: “Berto looks so different tonight. There’s something missing, what could it possibly be?! This is so unlike Berto, do you think he’s changed anything recently?” Yes, he’s stopped cheating you big pair of tits. It was the same in the Cotto-Margacheato rematch. “Hmm. Margarito’s punches don’t seem to have the same impact as they did first time around. I wonder why that is?! Margarito looks like a different fighter tonight, where’s the punch power gone?”
Call me a horribly jaded cynic, but Berto looked different because he’s no longer juicing, El Cheato can’t strap the Hulk to each fist these days, so they looked a little short of their “best”.
Unfortunately I do get US commentators; I get that they're toe-the-party-line soft-shoe-shuffling perma-blow-dried corporate stiffs beholden to a regressive & frankly disgusting meedja persona; & even those who start off seeming like real people quickly become subsumed into becoming.... Well, a TV-land corporate flack.
But, like, what else would one expect? It'd happen to all of us, were we willing to swap our existence for theirs. Meself, I'd rather not. But then again I might be poor but fvck I'm proud. & I swear too much & take too many drugs for live TV. & I'd probably spend an inordinate amount of time chatting up the ring card girls.
But still.
