Don't know. Heck I thought you were going to make a thread of listing the worst of all time.
For my money, it's Charlie Zelenoff, followed by 99% of the boxers to ever come out of the Fort Smith, Arkansas area.

Personally I dont think this era is that much worse than was the 1980s. There are good fighters, and yes by and large most of the fighters out there are average. But as for worst of all time, thats a whole other universe together. Unfortunately, though I dont agree with the criticisms, I have to put myself on that list for losing to J'Leon Love. Until I defeat some third tiers and get up a notch, then I wouldn't be in that list.

Kudos for the honesty and you really did look like some random guy off the street in there with Love but I'd still pick you to beat Zelenoff any day of the week.

Crumble crumbled a lot.

HH, you are miles, miles better than the two characters in that video and fighting Love in your debut never gave you a fair chance to show what you could do. When are you thinking of fighting again - you got anything lined up?
2013 is my year. A friend of mine and I are currently working on arranging a project of converting a house into a sort of gym area, and put on lower-level exhibition matches for the amusement of Internet fans, where I will be matched against the likes of Andrew Hartley, Brian Strege, etc. and this will be in Las Vegas, Nevada in spring through summer. As for the pro ring, I am working on getting a prepackaged deal with a Louisiana promoter named Blake Franklin to get a few wins under my belt, and see where I go from there. I'm also entertaining the notion of doing amateur mma, and in these exhibitions we will put on I am working on doing a specialty bout between myself and 10-0-0 Thomas LaManna in an mma contest; me being from a wrestling background in school and all, I think it would be in my favor though anything can happen with those 4oz gloves on. If I beat LaManna in the exhibition contest, or do well enough in it, I will consider doing mma seriously.

Like I tell people, THAT is the difference between being a bare knuckle man, and a finely tuned athlete. In a no-rules environment, the contest may of been different; more variables to consider. Like I said in post above, I was a good wrestler and following graduation I did train for a time at a gym owned and operated by Jody Poff and Pat Tanaka and picked up Judo and Juijitsu. Wrestling was my first love, and I am proud to say I can hang with men who spot me as much as 50 pounds. I can see openings far more clearly in the grappling world than boxing; like I tell people who critique every second of that video (my feet, etc) that going from a sport where you square up at the feet, to using angles, is quite the mental challenge let alone physical. Its all about muscle memory. Since then I have been getting physically in better condition, I can shadow box, hit the reflex bag, with an elevation mask on, for two hours these days. And, unlike my former self, I understand the dehydration and rehydration process; I fought Love at 154 pounds on fight night, he outweighed me by as much as 40 pounds. It doesnt look like it on film, cus the film is grainy and I am built funny in the respect I have long arms, thick legs, and wide shoulders so I appear the size of a Cruiserweight (which is what Love's walking weight is). I can cut 10-15 pounds in a week's time now, and if I fought it would be at welterweight or junior middleweight, not super middleweight or higher; at least not until I come into my own and develope the kind of skill and strength required to do that.

I tracked Crumble down once to Wisconsin, he actually exists. The name Crumble, however, is an alias. However, I wouldn't by any means call Crumble the worst. Crumble at least went 2-3 rounds with some decent/average guys. I know guys who get blown away in one round by the likes of 0-4, 1-10, etc types. THOSE type of guys are what you need to find. Jeff Lee and Charlie Zelenoff, by far, may just be the worst of all time.

I found Crumble when I was trying to break into boxing as a manager, rather than as a fighter, and thought the greatest tank town fight of all time would be Eric Crumble vs Andrew Hartley, a true battle of the bums. We wanted to make the fight happen and jokingly call it "The Rumble With The Crumble" and have it happen in the Fort Smith, Arkansas area or some other shit boxing zone. Crumble, however didn't want to fight, saying he's been offered upwards of $5,000 to come out of retirement to fight different people and turned it all down, and we were no different.
I know before finding him my suspicion was that he was Reggie Strickland or Donnie Pendelton, because rumors in boxing are commonplace and that is the one I heard most times. But that is not the case. He was just a working class guy who fought under an alias because he didn't want boxing to cross over into his real life. I do know years ago, a thread was made in this very forum of "Is There a Picture of Eric Crumble?" or something to that extent, and of all people Stacy Goodson has a picture next to the legendary Crumble (who is a black man; I mention that cus some people just don't know).
That was so many years ago though when I found him in Wisconsin, that I doubt he still resides at the address or still has the same phone number as before. I reckon some legends just have to remain a mystery. The Truth Is Out There.

mercman wrote:I have seen the photo of Goodson and Crumble (with Jerry curls, I seem to remember) but had wondered if it was genuine or just a snap of Goodson with some random Black fighter. Another name you have mentioned is Andrew Hartley - what about starting with him for your comeback and build it up from there?
The problem with Hartley is for over the last three years him and I have attempted on many ocassions to make the fight happen, but with a week or two to go Hartley acts stupid and then the fights dont happen. Last time we tried to arrange something was earlier this year, where I wanted to set up an exhibition boxing show here in Ohio with him and I as the main attraction, since it would be all local guys. I offered him $800 plus travel, hotel and pay for his food and drinks; he balked and said he wanted a percentage of whatever ticket sales there was, and I wouldn't do that. I told him, as a compromise, if he could beat me I would give him my 1989 Chevrolet Cavalier which would make his total earnings be upwards $1,500-1,750. He insulted me and my family and then fiance, so I told him to go fornicate himself more or less. However, if you read my earlier posts, I do mention that the idea of exhibition boxing shows has come up again and atm we are working on getting both Andrew Hartley and Brian Strege (0-3-0) to participate and fight me on the same card; the winner of the first fight would immediately fight Strege. I also have in mind of fighting other third tiers in these exhibition fights (which I view them as sparring sessions to prepare me for a step above third tier as I got my eyes set on a 10-5-2 fighter out of Louisiana).

How about heavyweight Ed Strickland, finished with a record of 0-30. All losses by KO. He lost 13 in the 1st, the other 17 in the 2nd. Thats pretty bad.

i was reading a now ousted boxing magazine called boxing update years back. they covered small boxing cards and the writer said a cruiserweight named Arroyo was worst boxer he ever saw. it was funny cause i didnt do so well against him in sparing. he could fight in gym but would freeze up in real fights.

I was looking at boxrec and found a fighter who is the definition of "soup-can." His name is Reggie Strickland. This guy has definitely taken a dive once or twice, right?!?!
His professional record -
66 Wins, 276 Losses, and 17 Draws!
