It's not known if football referee Mark Clattenburg is a fan of the show.

I dont think she was mean-spirited in what she said, perhaps a little poor in her use of descriptions though !

Out of context. If Haye is asked about this, knowing the full information, I'd be very surprised if he's offended racially. I doubt he'd care at all. People being offended on someone else's behalf need to STFU and go do something worthwhile.

I get the distinct impression that the writer doesn't care for the show a great deal!

Unfortunately this is just typical of the world we live in. Person makes comment. Others are outraged. Person then has to apologise even though they never meant what they said in a nasty way. All very sad really...

Great write up though :TU:

IMHO she had no reason to apologise, she obviously did not mean it in a racial way at all

No story = move on.

Doesn't matter. She said Monkey while talking about a man of alternative ethnicity. Hang her. No, that's too good, she needs to really suffer. I'd guess the Daily Mail are rounding up a confused lynch mob right now....

What do we want?
Monkeys Out. No wait, hold on, we're on the side of the monk....er I mean, the nice man from Africa.
So what DO we want?
We want him to stay?
Oh. So who do we want out?
Paedophiles?
Oh yes. Is the Monkey a paedophile?
Probably....And he killed Di

So saying to a black guy, 'you little monkey' or something along those lines is racist? Another tabloid story trying to make racist waves.

If a black guy calls another black guy the 'n' word is that also racist? Lets say 2 employees for instance and one black guy calls another the n word? is that sackable?

If so then 2 white employees and one says 'hey whitey' is that racist, more to the point is it racist if a black guy calls a white guy 'whitey'?

Is there such thing as racism in a white person?

I think people need to look at the context, had nothing to do with skin color, no different to my uncles calling me a little monkey when i was a lad!! some people need to get a grip and stop jumping on the PC bandwagon!!

Casual racism from an upper-class individual who has probably never interacted with a member of an ethnic minority in a social situation of assumed equality? Only the person who made the comment knows. Declaring a black male walking through the jungle as being redolent of a monkey is certainly a questionable choice of words.

:TU:

Do people use the word "monkey" as a racial slur? Yes. So think before you call a black person it, in public, on a fornicating prime-time TV show, or people'll throw their rattles out the pram. It's not 1952, thank fornicate.

No sanction should be taken; apart from pointing at her & laughing, & if you're of any ethnicity other than White, maybe try & find an alternative to... er, what did she do again? I mean, as a profession? Some sort of TV cookery show? What?

Oh, fornicate it, hang the bitch then. We don't want that sort in this country...

What is a professional boxer doing faffing about with a bunch of nobodies in an abandoned dairy farm a couple of miles from a big country town anyway? It is a long way from any "jungle".

I wonder if Peter Herbert of the Society of Black Lawyers will be making a complaint to the police? He loves getting his face on TV. This woman should expect to have her colour felt if his recent actions are anything to go by.
