It's hard to work out.

Was he paid a fixed sum for being in the documentary
Was he paid a traditional purse
Was he on a cut of ticket money
Was he on a cut of Boxnacion money
Was he paid a cut of the sponsorship/advertising revenue

All of the above probably.

I think a more interesting question is how much has Barry McGuigan made out of it? He must have had a pretty penny. To be fair it was a good promotion.

I don't think so; I know a man and Shane trains his son; there was so much pressure about living up to Barrys' reputation and achievements that it took the enjoyment out of it for him. A shame as he was a decent amateur boxer - Ross Minter did pretty well and enjoyed himself in his fathers shadow. Shane is a really good coach apparently.

Barry is quite honest about it, he said Shane found the name difficult to live up to. He said that a few years ago and at the time Shane was prepping to go stateside to study the science behind sports (rather than pursuing his fighting career). Not sure how he got on but he seems a good lad whenever I've seen him, conducts himself well.

6,000 tickets, on the front pages of todays newspapers and on every news buletin I have seen today on all channels - the kind of coverage 99% of boxers can only dream about.

I just hope he doesn't do it again as it is taking the piss out of the sport.

Saw Shane a few times. I was impressed with his determination but he wanted to run before he could walk.his fights were hard & I imagine he worked extremely hard & he is better off doing the science & is excelling in this area

Has Shane actually got a trainers license? Or was he just awarded one for this fight?
