First time I saw trout, quite impressed.
Thought Cotto might of REELED him in but how wrong was I !
Thought he might of caught him with a HOOK !

I think most people were expecting trout to get SMOKED but it was cotto that was put in his plaice.

Really strong performance though, very impressed

Good win for trout. Quite a lot of people in the game Stateside were quietly expecting Trout might well win. The extreme favouritism towards a Cotto win this side of the pond and from less clued-up Americans was based almost exclusively on the fact most people had watched Cotto previously but hadn't ever watched Trout. Strange but true.

Trout called out Alvarez after the fight. I don't see that one happening just yet. Alvarez is being built to be the P4P number one in the world when Mayweather and Manny go to pasture. GBP will match him smart until a baton passing showdown with one of the big two.

Incidentally, I think Alvarez is absolutely brilliant now and will get even better in the next 12-18 months.

You certainly can't carp at Trout's performance.

Stylistically, Trout was completely wrong for Cotto. It was pretty clear from early on that Cotto was in trouble.

It will be interesting to see what Cotto does next. He probably can't make 147 comfortably and 154 is a little too big for him. K9 Bundrage has a belt and is definitely winnable for Cotto. From there he could fight Alvarez for one final payday and then hang them up.

He certainly gave Cotto a haddock.

Struggled to carry on watchin it after round 9 Knew he was going to lose, was sad to see miguel at the end walking out the camera following him while trout was being interviewed, IMO he should never be at that weight the size difference looked enormous. Id like to see him retire now, one of my favourite boxers ever. Trout came across we'll in his interview goodluck to him.

I have seen Trout a couple of times, very good operator, and fairly big for the weight (height and reach) so i fancied him to do the Biz here - the only thing that worried me was the pro Cotto crowd so thought the judges may have been swayed!

9/4 odds were massive for an undefeated fighter who had defended his title 3 times already

Him v Alvarez is meant to be the next big super fight - that would be very interesting! Think Alvarez would walk through Trouts punches a lot more than Cotto could and would manage to get pin him down and go to work

i have been trolling the net looking for breakdown for this fight and found the odd decent tail, ive enjoyed what i have read and it certainly has its plaice in this weeks headlines. will trout be over the rainbow? will he make a dash for Brook next?, trout seemingly battered cotto which was unexpected and cotto was seen to fly from the arena without a trace. so who will trout tackle next because i am hooked on him....and will they be cast aside like cotto has been. trout played cotto well although cotto almost lured him in a few times, a reel professional job. perhaps trout should have roach as a trainer? hopefully trout will not 'chub' up to much between fights. does he go on many runs? or does he just go with the flow? anyone watch the fight via a clear stream? after this performance i would expect a bigger arena next time and trout should fillet. did trout dance a jig when he won? or were his emotions held in check until he landed back home. how many times did trout strike cotto? was he light on his feet? did he float around the ring? was trout grilled by the press after the fight?
