This will be a good scrap. Big test for Ochieng but should come through in the end

So from Terry Carruthers to Max Maxwell obviously Max is a lot more of a test than Carruthers IMO that meaning no disrespect, but come on, Max was due to fight on the same bill has Nasser Al-Harbi who the BBBoC have said is next in line to fight for the English title, and is fit and ready to go, so why not make that match up ? It would of been just has easy to make, Matchroom & Sky with there "Big Shows" again, and to top it off the best 2 match ups they've made all year despite all the bullshit that sky have been feeding us have both fell through Ree's Vs Murray and Purdy Vs Jones so much for there christmas cracker matchroom marketing and sky are gonna have to find some new slogans at this rate

I don't think Ochieng's team wanted Al Harbi all along, if Ochieng wins, no doubt he will vacate, rather then face his main challenger, it's a big if, Maxwell will give him a hard fight, especially if it gets into the later rounds and it is close.

Yh totally agree m8, Max can be a handful. Ochieng's team mustn't have much real belief in him if there avoiding Al-Harbi. Too much emphasis is put on unbeaten records now a days, it's a joke, a loss doesn't mean nothing has long has you can learn from it and grow better for it. To many unbeaten lads fighting nobody's with padded records then get to some big title eliminator and barely scrap through then use piss poor excuses, the only excuse is you haven't learned your trade m8, you've just been knocking over bums for 25 fights learning nothing. Leave the politics for Westminster, let the fighters fight. The sport will benefit from it and so will the fans.

What do you mean mcato? Get my facts right how ? My view is that too much emphasis is put on lads keeping there unbeaten records rather than risk losing it with a good 50/50 fight. What's wrong with that ? Where's my facts wrong there ? That's not a fact, that's my opinion

I also agree with his point but in the context he was saying as if Ochieng was unbeaten nothing wrong in making a mistake but if you look at his record you can see that he is not one of these boxers who has had 20 journeyman

Very true, good luck to Max. yh thats not a bad shout, Nasser got nothing to lose, like in Italy, no one would expect him to win, think he could frustrate Jones a bit with his boxing ability, just not sure if hes strong enough to hold him off for 12 rounds

Nas is a lit mid he shouldnt have a problem. This fight can put him on the map

James, how do you know full well he would not be avoiding Al Harbi ? From where do you get this information mate ? From what I heard they tried to fight Ochieng 3 times, including the dec 8th show, but were turned down each time, Al Harbi is his no 1 contender, if Ochieng beats Maxwell, we will see if he vacates or obeys the board.

I bet they will find it hard to match Carson Jones, after the beating he took off Kell Brook and then coming back and nearly stopping Brook, I don't even think Brook would fight him again, Mcato are you trying to steer Al Harbi off Ochieng, by mentioning Jones, Talkischeap is more on the mark, you need a full 2-3 month camp preparing for someone of Jones level, studying him and training for him, because he is a nightmare and so bloody fit.

Where do I start?

In an effort to not rile his father, I won't start. However, I will say turning down a fight, and avoiding someone, are different.

Fully expecting ochieng to win then vacate. Nass will get his shot at the title come what may (the lad deserves it tbf)

good to see max get a shot but like the other poster said id hav liked to seen al harbi in with ochieng 2 good young fighters, i think max will push ochieng but fancy ochieng on points then he will vacate rather than face his mandatory a shame cud b a fight of the year contender with their styles
