Will be debated for years to come but wanted to see what the forum thought as most polls tend to be very accurate when predicting fights on here.
a peak Tyson laboured against James TillisVaudeville Villain wrote:This is how it would go down, for real. Tyson comes out. Ali comes out. Tyson closes the distance and throws a right hook to the body followed by an uppercut to the chin. Ali goes down. Doesn't get back up, he had shit recovery powers, and Tyson wins with the first minute or so. How? Cus and the kid, bolo punches, force of nature, 90-second prime etc. etc.
That is also what would happen in every one of Tyson's defining fights against live opponents. Apart from the ones that did happen, which he lost by KO in most cases, but those fights don't count. They will never, ever count.
is your name Marvis Frazier?jameswilson wrote:I once fought Tyson, and it is true that I got hit by a right to the body and then an uppercut to the chin. I ended up knocked out.
Nope Ali had nothing on him, Tyson is a modern athlete, smokin Joe outboxed him and he wasn't half of what Tyson was. Both of them were hugely over rated but you need to be serious here.Vaudeville Villain wrote:Yes, all fights ever come down to is speed, power and chin. Ring intelligence, skill, heart and the ability to adapt and overcome don't come into the equation, ever. If they did then Ali would win this mythical match up. We're lucky men, eh?Complex wrote:Both were myths but Tyson wins this, just as fast more powerful and better chin.
THE ONLY TIME ALI FAILED TO HEAR THE FINAL BELL WAS AGAINST LARRY HOLMES AND EVEN THEN IT WAS ONLY COS HIS CORNER PULLED HIM OUT AND HE WAS NEARLY 40 AND IN THE EARLY STAGES OF PARKINSONS(STILL DISGUSTING IF YOU SEE FOOTAGE BEFORE THAT FIGHT THAT HE WAS ALLOWED TO BOX AND THEN HAVE ANOTHER FIGHT) HE AVENGED 3 OF HIS 5 DEFEATS, NOW I RATE TYSON HIGHLY,ESPECIALLY POTENTIALLY-WISE HE COULD HAVE BEEN THE BEST BUT THE PROBLEM WAS HE WAS AT HIS PEAK BEFORE HE REACHED WORLD LEVEL,THE TYSON THAT FOUGHT HIS FIRST PROFFESIONAL CONTEST PROBABLY WOULD,VE BEAT THE ONE THAT FOUGHT DOUGLAS BUT I GIVE HIM CREDIT CAUSE HE,S STILL THE YOUNGEST FIGHTER EVER TO WIN A WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP BUT COME ON PEOPLE ITS HARD ENOUGH TO COMPARE FIGHTERS FROM DIFFERENT ERAS LET ALONE LET ALONE FIGHTERS FROM DIFFERENT LEVELS AND ERAS.TYSON WAS KO,D BY DOUGLAS,HOLYFIELD,LEWIS,WILLIAMS AND MCBRIDE. DOESNT EVEN COMPARE,IF IT WASNT FOR THE INFAMY HE BROUGHT TO THE SPORT THEN THE MIKE TYSON THAT FOUGHT AT WORLD LEVEL WOULD BE REGARDED NO BETTER THAN ERNIE SHAVERS.Complex wrote:Both were myths but Tyson wins this, just as fast more powerful and better chin.
Chin seemed ok to me when he KO'd a harder hitter than Tyson in the jungle.Complex wrote:Both were myths but Tyson wins this, just as fast more powerful and better chin.
Holyfield was better than ali, Lewis was better and When Douglas was motivated he could have been.handsofstone wrote:THE ONLY TIME ALI FAILED TO HEAR THE FINAL BELL WAS AGAINST LARRY HOLMES AND EVEN THEN IT WAS ONLY COS HIS CORNER PULLED HIM OUT AND HE WAS NEARLY 40 AND IN THE EARLY STAGES OF PARKINSONS(STILL DISGUSTING IF YOU SEE FOOTAGE BEFORE THAT FIGHT THAT HE WAS ALLOWED TO BOX AND THEN HAVE ANOTHER FIGHT) HE AVENGED 3 OF HIS 5 DEFEATS, NOW I RATE TYSON HIGHLY,ESPECIALLY POTENTIALLY-WISE HE COULD HAVE BEEN THE BEST BUT THE PROBLEM WAS HE WAS AT HIS PEAK BEFORE HE REACHED WORLD LEVEL,THE TYSON THAT FOUGHT HIS FIRST PROFFESIONAL CONTEST PROBABLY WOULD,VE BEAT THE ONE THAT FOUGHT DOUGLAS BUT I GIVE HIM CREDIT CAUSE HE,S STILL THE YOUNGEST FIGHTER EVER TO WIN A WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP BUT COME ON PEOPLE ITS HARD ENOUGH TO COMPARE FIGHTERS FROM DIFFERENT ERAS LET ALONE LET ALONE FIGHTERS FROM DIFFERENT LEVELS AND ERAS.TYSON WAS KO,D BY DOUGLAS,HOLYFIELD,LEWIS,WILLIAMS AND MCBRIDE. Foreman fell into his game plan, Tyson is a completely different fighter than Foreman.desperados wrote:Chin seemed ok to me when he KO'd a harder hitter than Tyson in the jungle.Complex wrote:Both were myths but Tyson wins this, just as fast more powerful and better chin.

tested plenty against the likes of shavers, frazier, cooper. His chin was something to behold, but sadly, has paid the sad price of soaking up shots that would have knocked most out.The Dark Destroyer wrote:Ali's tactics against Foreman were so masterful that his chin barely got tested. Few HWs could take what Foreman threw and stay up, Ali avoided taking it at all.
